Lower active grill

Does anyone know when the lower active grill is supposed to open or shut?

Always seems open when I’ve looked through the grill - albeit when parked up.

“lower” active grill? The only active flaps are those behind the kidneys

Have a closer look behind the grill and you will see a few horizontals shutters.

Number 5 on the below:

It looks like this relates to an M aerodynamics package.

Garage List
The grilles open when more air is needed in for cooling. When the engine is cold the grilles should be closed in order to get it up to temp quicker before opening again.

I didn't even realise there is a lower active grill on my G20.
1.5 year of owning this car and I have never seen it shut.

Unless it only closes at higher speed when driving?

I read on another forum the lower stays open when parked…

Seems most people have not seen there’s closed.

Any photos?

Just checked and now it's open. Does it just not open straight away after parking? Or I'm going crazy
