The car insurance for the M light..
Current 440i gc is around £360 and had just gone thru 7th May. Same insurer (AA) wants £930. Back into the caparison site shows a best of around £630.
Have you tried Direct Line? They're quoting me £560 fully comp for my G21 M340i and Mrs JNW1's Cooper S and that splits £338 for mine and £222 for hers (both with £300 excess).
Thanks. Will try them tonight.

Admiral wanted the equivilent of an extra 90 quid a year when I changed from the 320d. Our joint renewal is in June so we shall see then mind you.

I put it down to being a newish model so not much data on them being stolen/in crashes etc.

My insurance went down by £100/yr switching from an F36 420i M Sport Gran Coupé to a G20 330i M Sport. I put it down to the active collision avoidance stuff and slightly reduced annual mileage due to working from home.

Ok emergency over.
Rather than looking at the Web price and getting a quote online, I called them to go through the details and confirm swapping.
£29 more. Phew.
Sorted for the Friday handover, with 24 hours leaway just in case of last minute hitches.
No idea what the configurators are doing...
Perhaps it helped having a number plate now (not assigned yet, but a plate none the less)...

Garage List
Co-op wanted £6.5k/yr for me for the M340i Admiral much cheaper at £1.5k, which I took them up on. Congrats on the car in an hour from now!

If you take out car insurance at the last minute,
it is always an astronomical figure.
For some reason you are regarded as a higher risk.
I didn’t know when my wife’s new car was going
to turn up at the dealer and so I only took out the
Insurance the day before delivery.
That cost me a lot of £££.

Well I'm home now and have filled in the log book sale process online for my 440i gc. Quite sad to see her go in all honesty. 11 days short of 3 years.
On to the new one.
Lots to learn in I drive 7 is my first comment.
The M seats adjust every which way, so I still need to get myself fully acclimatised this weekend.
Sunday is booked off from family activities for decontamination and sealent time. For the first time in 6 years, I'm gonna do it myself. Bonding time with the beast...
Any questions, or requests for details out there?

Very nice mate! I'm getting mine detailed next Sunday and am finding all manor of excuses to drive it to get the millage up. Sticking to 5k revs is proving to be difficult mind..

I see you have the laser lights, they do look nice with the full DRL pattern as well.
Don't forget to unplug the exhaust flap as well!

What’s the difference, visually? I know they used to say laser on the side, but I have laser and it doesn’t say that any more. What are the clues?

The day time running lights are a different design. They curv around as oppose to just two lines at the bottom of the headlight on the standard lights.

They also say laserlight on the side, have small blue accents and have two main beams instead of one on the normal non laser headlight.

They do look really nice up close. Great design.
She got her first wash last night, and I spent some time around the front end admiring them whilst applying iron-x to the paint. (Amazing how much fall out there is on a new car).Apparently they are awesome in the night. No chance to test that yet. Very happy to have dancing lights again. Used to have them on my previous F30, and missed them on my most recent F36.

Detailing complete, decontamination performed and mirror glaze apllied.
Nice to see the mineral white popping under direct sunlight.
