Another supply chain impact?

Just noticed that the wireless charger/wi-fi hotspot option has been removed from the 3 series configurator. I have it, and it isn't great anyway, but looks like another casualty.

By the time, my order gets in to production, there isn't going to be a car to build.

Lots of compromises for all cars right now. Unfortunately, it has quickly shifted from a buyers market (during COVID), to a sellers market.

Once again making me glad I ordered my car when I did and being able to take delivery in such a short period of time (8 weeks).

I went with my guts and intercepted an in-transit car that fits my needs, and took delivery in 2 days at an awesome price.

The dealer is no longer open to the same level of discounts.

I believe on the 330i now that the live cockpit pro is standard due to parts issues.

Live cockpit pro is a $750 stand-alone option, so customers need to pay up for this "mandatory" upgrade?

It is good that I grabbed my analog gauges@$0.

Right. I’d dumb that it’s a “mandatory” upgrade. At the point, just throw it in.

I think I recall seeing in that other thread about various options getting removed that other people had also lost their wireless charger. No great surprise due to the chip shortage really, though like you I find it kinda lacklustre so I also keep a portable charger ready in case I need a quick boost or something in the car breaks and I have no battery

Seems to be the way to go, though at some point these cars with the missing equipment will be hitting lots. Glad you found a Tanzanite on the lot. I have yet to see that color in person or even in the inventory of my local dealers.

Wireless charger does it's job to support phone battery while in use, Maps, Music, calls, etc... during long trip.
It will never charge the phone from zero on the way to work though.
I feel main purpose is to start the car with the key card, and the phone is secondary.

I use S20 galaxy and it gets warm, but never overheated so far.

I think I read the key card thing works even without the wireless charger, no?

Wasn't easy though, I ripped through seven dealership salespeople and one broker to find it.

Correct. If you don't have the charger, it's just an NFC pad that allows the key card to work.
