Can't get a hard copy of the owner's manual anymore?
Not including the M340, I have gotten three new cars since 2014. They all came with multiple OMs. The 2020 comes with one "Cliff Notes" version. It says: "The Owner's Manual for Navigation, Entertainment, & Communication can be obtained as a printed book from the service center." The "on board" manual in the car says the same thing, but my dealer's 'Genius' says, "They don't do that anymore".
Are you all getting them when requested? Thanx |

I just go online if I want to look something up in the owners manual. If you've added your car to your garage in "my bmw", you can get the full owners manual there. Much better than a printed manual imo since you can search for specific functions.

Well, actually you can get one. You just have to go through a bunch of people who say that it doesn't exist anymore. Service can order them, but the problem is the price, $69. Let's hope there's something tasty in there; I'll get the word out after I've had it for a while.

Are you guys who are 'getting it', getting the little 5"X7" version that says on the bottom of page 8, "The Owners Manual for Nav., Entertainment, and Com. can be obtained as a printed book from the service center"? Or are you getting the (at least) two books? Not including the M340, I have bought three German cars since 2014. They all came with multi volume encyclopedias.

i'm curious as to why you need the big hard copy instruction manual. It's a bit like carrying around a dictionary with you as opposed to just looking up a word on google.

I did get a nice, thick printed manual, but searching in a pdf is much easier and often faster. |
