M340i high pitched sound after hard driving?

Hello!

I have my M340i for about a month now and I've put about 3000 miles on it, runs like a dream, but I've noticed this 3 times already, after I drive it hard and the engine gets hot I hear in the cabin a wierd high pitched sound, like a kettle on the stove or something like that, which doesn't necesarilly seem to have any connection with the rpm I'm at.

Anyone have any ideas what it might be? Thanks for the help!

While still running or after turned off? Only thing I have heard is fan after turning off. Have you opened the hood to look for coolant leaks? I was thinking a steam leak from a hose or on coolant system? Also is AC on or off

Hi! Only when it is running, when I turn the car off it disappears and doesn't seem to have anything to do with the AC because I hear it even when I turn the AC off. I'm going to check for leaks. I opened the bonnet a few times before noticing this and saw some milky stain spots on the engine cover... could it be coolant?

When I saw it I thought it might be coolant, but the car didn't throw any codes, so I didn't think much of it

I am not a mechanic but I seem to remember that milky means oil and water mixing. I hope not! I would say take to dealer to check it out. I assume it's under warranty

No, nothing like that. It sounded something like my ears were ringing, but very slight.

Hasn't happened since I posted this, so maybe I was just being hysterical.

I have the same issue. Just brought it in to the dealer. Ever figure out what happened from this?

try to replicate the sound with a completely emptied car: take all things out of the car (including the tow tools in the trunk).
Open the bonnet and check if engine protection is tight. Have you tried to reproduce it while stopped? I mean, if you get rpm hight enough while parked, the weird sound comes?
