need support with winter tyres - 330i xdrive
Hi everyone,
It's a pleasure to meet you all! As recently I become a lucky owner of g20 330 with drive, I purchased a car without a winter tyre set. Under the effect of time pressure (Car was bought already in winter), without any second thoughts, I run into website to buy new set of tyres for my OEM staggered m-rims. After 2 weeks of usage, I finally bumped on some forums, into the topic of drivetrain and x-drive issues by fitting non-star marked tyres or issues with different tyre models on separate axles. However, my case is a bit specific, as I purchased 2 sets of Goodyear tyres, which have a slight difference in the model spec (tread seems identical). Dimensions are fine, according to the door plate. Now I have issues to sleep at night, as I'm not sure if I should buy another set of the IDENTICAL model as in rear setup and worrying about my xdrive. However, those things are not cheap.. Im new to BMWs, therefore this topic caught me by surprise. Here are the specs of tyres, I will be really glad for any advice if this setup is still fine to run: FRONT: Goodyear UG Performance G1 225/45 R18 95 H XL, FP, MO REAR: Goodyear UltraGrip Performance + 255/40 R18 99 V XL, FP Thanks a lot for comments! |

The tyre sizes are correct and this is the most important for x-drive concerns.
The fact that the patterns do not match front and rear should not make a difference. I'd say with 99% certainty that you'll be absolutely fine with this set up |

Thanks a lot for advice!
I guess g20s xdrive is less sensitive than on x models. I drove 200km with such setup already, so hopefully if abs is not flashing, I do not do any harm to the car, Cheers, |
