Belgium, 330e with m sport pack, 10/2020 has the B48B20A engine.

After checking the code on the engine, I actually found it in my technical documentation that came with the car.
At first I was disappointed, but then I thought that I would not tune the car in any case, as I would lose the warranty.
Also in xtraboost mode 300hp is very decent, at least in Europe.

B: https://www.br-performance.lu/en-lu/...19/11553-330e/
That is also not true, i have a b48b20a engine in my f30 330e and mapped stage 2 with 402hp and 60xNm without any mods (except downpipe)

Edit: the b can indeed be tuned to around 450 hp without mods... 😅

Is there anyone with a G21 330e who has the B version?
Someone told me the G21's always have the A version :-/
Hope it's not the case as I will have mine very soon...

It seems that there are two tanks for the cooling system. Is this a valid argument for saying this engine is the B type?

Unfortunately, this method does not seem to be correct for my car G21 330e 2021/01. I have two tanks, but the engine is marked as A on the engine block.

This method is only for 320i models to know if it has the 330i engine. I do not know in the case of the 330e

I read that xDrive equipped cars have the A motor.

Do you have xDrive on your car's with the B type engine?

It is easy to find the engine code in the certificate of conformity (item 21: motorcode) rather than peeking inside the engine bay. But maybe the certificate of conformity is different/absent depending on the country you live in.

Not sure if it's related to the engine but I have the RWD version in combination with the B48B20B engine.

So I have a B46B20B - unless I can't see it well but double-checked and seems to be a valid engine. Tunable?

My build date was August 2020, just picked it up this past month.

It seems that the x-drive models are with the 20A engine. On the block of my car, the number says B48B20A, but checking the VIN number there is an old 318 who comes up.. If I check another place, it stands B46B20B?!?!?

Sorry to dig this up but there’s not much posted about the 530e. I cannot locate this stamp on my engine. Would you mind sharing a picture from a wider angle showing where this is located?

it is not 330e, but I got 530e with B46B20B
over the weekend, I tuned through bm3 stage 1 93 oct.
HOLY MOLY car is so much faster! like day and night difference.
I am coming from f80 m3, but this is no joke... the amount of torque is insane.
almost as fast as my old m3(stock map) at least off the line/dig.
if anyone who has B46/48B20B I def recommend to tune.

B46B20B

I do have a Racechip GTS+ App from my previous car that came with 1 free reprogram. Just had to pay $20 to get a new adapter harness.
Still have not installed it 8 months later :-(
Likely because I have a short 5-8 mile commute each way so only driven 300 miles using ICE compared to 3200 miles on Electric

Hello, would you mind sending me your VIN? I want to buy a 330e but only want the B engine, I want to check if my method is ok or not, I am searching on https://bimmercat.com/ but the problem is that every VIN I input either tells me it has the B engine, or that it is not a 330e, which is weird. And I want to have a good method of seeing which is which because I might have to buy the car from an auction and won't be able to check the engine block myself.

Can you send me your VIN, same reason as the one I listed in the earlier post? Or anybody who has a 330e with an A engine

Bimmercat stopped updating in 2019 when BMW changed the conditions to access the catalog so that’s why it probably only shows 330e with the B engine.

If you buy a new 330e it’ll 100% sure have the A engine.

I’ll buy a used one, one that is produced until 05/2020 as the ones after that can’t be tuned anyway as I read here

My parents have a car parts store and have TecDoc Catalogue afaik, if I look up the VINs there should it be accurate?
