I also think if the automakers were to take up tesla on any offer they would say no as they may see it as a "sign of weakness." A lot of the auto brands have too much pride.

Why Other Car Companies Don't Use Tesla Superchargers

Something like this ?

One day sooner or later cars will not be running on fuel anymore. So it will be adapt or perish for the fuel companies. You don't want to be Nokia. Realizing you did nothing wrong except not looking forward.

Exactly like that. But on a much larger scale, ideally dedicating to having at least 4 chargers at every gas station, assuming grids get better and have the capacity to pull it off. That sort of peace of mind would make it easier to adapt to the silent future.

That they do. Pride would be an easier pill to swallow than going out of business. The same way putting pride aside and building an SUV helped keep Porsche alive.

Exactly right. I would definitely consider a well-made vehicle with a Tesla powertrain. I have zero consideration for any vehicle produced by Tesla.

Is this the time when I point out that the Model 3 is at least as reliable as a BMW 3 series? Or does that fact not count because bimmerpost owners pick and choose the stats that suit them? (rhetorical question-I already know the answer in your case)

Can that Tesla troll be banned. Highly annoying that he is pushing his agenda here and trying to divert the topic to talking about Tesla.

Haha, everyone picks the stats that suit their opinion best. And on a BMW enthousiast forum you are likely to find ... BMW enthousiast.

Tesla is a great powertrain builder. After 10 years they are also reliable. But they can't build luxury cars. For the same price no one will chose a model S above a Taycan. And the same for a model X and the new iX

Straight line acceleration is nice for drag races and red lights but fun in driving is more than that.

Have a bad feeling this is going to look more like the 3GT than the 4GC

If that is due to the interior offering that much more space, I'm in!

Have to hope that the i4 comes in notably under 5m. My E39 5er was about the same size as today's 3er. Not sure why all the manufacturers want keep growing their cars so much.

The G28 3er LWB is 4,83m (12 cm longer than the G20) and as an educated guess, the 4GC/i4 will be around the same size, give or take a few cm.
