With two weeks of sub-freezing and a week of light snow every other day that has totaled nearly a foot overall, I got to put that Continental DWS06 tires on my M440iX to the test. They performed very well on wet and freshly plowed roadways, on an inch or so of fresh un-treated snow, and on 2-3 inch snow packed roads. The car tracked well and I felt confident at speeds approaching normal speed limits (unlike the SUV and PU truck drivers who think big tires make them superheroes, always good to see a few of them spun out in ditches as a warning to others) I even worked in a few panic stops at 10, 20, and 30 mph to see how the braking was. I had complete control over each and stopping distances were pretty good. At 20 and 30 the anti-lock brakes pulsed a bit.
Overall, I was very impressed with the performance of this “ultra high performance all season” tire. Now hopefully most of the snow is behind us for this winter. |
