M340i MPE (M Performance Exhaust) installed + sound clips

There are several people who posted that they have the 2021 with MPE and it's well worth the money. Apparently the videos don't capture the full sound... I hope it's worth it cause mine is being built right now with MPE port installed!

It probably is well worth the money compared to a stock 2021 exhaust.

Well what would you think, go MPE or AWE non resonated touring on a 21 M340?

It depends if you still want to have a valve in your system to quiet the car down in Comfort mode or not. If not I believe gives you more for your $$$. Dinan is another option if you want to keep the valve control.

I went with the AWE track and does it make a difference. Little rowdy cruising at 60-70 but I don't mind it

Any other testimonials from 2021's with the MPE installed?

I watched a few videos on YouTube, but still can't really tell. I wish there was someone in my area with one installed.

It's the only way I'd order it. The 2021 stock to me is woefully lacking exhaust soul--sounds too quiet like my recent 540i. The MPE is Goldilocks just right. Fairly quiet in Comfort and much better in Sport/Sport +. I have the Individual setting in Sport + for engine and regular sport for transmission.

And the cold start is glorious.

I'm sure the cold start is the same as in a 2020 with MPE, and yes it's loud enough that if you have sensitive neighbors they could be annoyed.

Some posts have said the 2021 is quieter on cold start than 2020. Guess I'll find out soon! I'm sure it will be the same or quieter than my m240 was with a midpipe. It was pretty loud on cold start but my neighbors never mentioned anything to me.

Hopefully I can post something soon. The cold start isn't obnoxious. About the same as my neighbor's Corvette.

Funny story that two neighbors said, "I hear you got a new car." But neither said it was annoying.

Just wish the MPE had quad tips. I bought it before researching and while I am very pleased with the performance and sound (Sport + every trip, every day, all day), I really don't get why it can't look sporty.

Been trying to figure out any quad tips I can put on it but haven't been successful. Dropping another $400 on top of the $1500 is far from ideal. If anyone has any info on some quad tips that will for fact fit please please please let me know.

My dealer claims it is banned in EU because it doesn't meet the noise regulations and emission limits. It was available until 2020 though.

Placed my order for a build on a 21 M340ix Saturday and tried to add the MPE but dealer is stating effective March 4th BMW corporate released a memo putting a hold on all MPE installs on M340 and M440 and that it is temporarily unavailable through the VIA program. Not sure exactly what that means but seeing as mine is a Mexico build and port install is not an option, I would seemingly need to do this as an aftermarket add through the dealer.

Interesting. My car should be at the port in the next few days and is supposed to have the MPE port installed. If I were you I'd reach out to another dealership just out of curiosity to see if there's any validity to that.

There is 100% validity to it. MPEs are on short order. The same bulletin went out to dealers all around, including mine. I ordered my M340 without the MPE, and ordered it through one of the west coast dealers. Order went in on February, and my expected delivery isn't till May... All of the 21 buyers will look for it...

m240nj, check your order to see if the MPE is still on the build sheet. If it is then you're good. I know someone that has a M340 waiting to be built with an April prod date that had the MPE, that had it taken off his build sheet
