Yes, so if you get the summer tires, you also get the increased speed limiter, which I need lol.

All-seasons will get you the 131 mph speed limiter.

Just posting my current timeline. I did call the genius line and they said its estimated for completion for tomorrow 02/09

Here is some information about all this process when I spoke w/ BMW Genius just now, in case this helps anyone with similar questions.

- Usually they (Genius) have way more frequent updates than our online My Bmw tracking, which is usually refreshed 2-3 times/week, per him.

- Once the vehicle has entered production, usually we won't get individual updates just notified when Assembly is finished/completed. He LOL'd that sometimes when a car would go from paint to quality, back to paint, customers would call freaking out asking why; he said that's why there's quality control.. if there's a tiny paint or quality defect, we fix it, because we export perfection. Half my job is telling people to take a deep breath.

(He seemed like a knowledgeable and down to earth genius guy).

- Although I got quoted a completion date of 2/18 (from a start date of 2/4), but he said they're sometimes seeing just under 2 weeks. As we are sometimes seeing with your guys' orders.

- 90% (minimum) of all 3/4 series are coming from Mexico mostly at random (not entirely new news); I asked about 'xDrives coming from Germany' or specific colors, as we've seen talked about on here, and he said there is really no rhyme/reason but based on Plant/Assembly-line workflow, Germany can help supplement production. But yes confirm whether its M340, xDrive, or a certain shade of blue, 90+% coming from SLP.

- ETA usually 2-4 weeks from Mexico SLP after the completion date, due to shipping by railway, (usually) depending on if it goes to "port" in Florida, Tx, or sometimes even goes from Mexico SLP up to New Jersey then ships. So he said with my completion date being ~2/18, I could see it arrive at the dealer (at the fastest) by first week of March! Or up to the end of March... He said they are seeing mostly 2-2.5 weeks transit time for 3/4's coming out of Mexico.

Obviously our individual data points may vary. Just relaying what he informed me. Hope this helps anyone.

Does anyone who has taken delivery of a build know if it's a concern that the dealership will screw in the front plate holder once the car arrives at the dealership? Also, any chance they would allow the car to be used for test drives before it's picked up? Just want to cover all my bases ahead of time!

Thanks! I'll call them ahead of time to say don't drill the holes. Also anti-front plate over here. Only got pulled over once in 3 years with my m240 for not having a front plate and I was let go right away with no ticket (NJ).

Side note - just used that carfindr tool someone built to run a search for my specs...there are only 5 in the world with my color combo at the moment it looks like. And none specced out the way mine is. 1 is close but not quite and it's in OH. Seems like I'll have a 1-off in CA.

There are a few others with Tanzanite Blue, but just 5 with Tanzanite + Cognac. Looks like most ordered either Oyster or Black w/ Blue stitching - and to be honest I was torn between those, the black w/ blue stitching is sharp in person it looks REALLY nice. And the Oyster interior is cleeeeaaaaan looking...but also probably going to be more of a PITA to keep clean.

Filtering by California, there is only 1 other TB / Cognac build. Filtering by Zip and setting miles to all, there are 5.

Extended Shadowline drops it to 4.

Adding Premium drops it to 1 (though, the other 3 have the Executive package).

Cooling and high performance tire package drops it to 0.

All total there are only 36 Tanzanite Blue M440s floating around the world it appears (filter by exterior color and nothing else).

7 have Oyster interior
8 have Black w/ Blue stitching interior
3 have Mocha interior

Not sure on the rest but yeah

I ordered mine Tanzanite Blue as well, but with Red interior. Just love the contrast. I also ordered the adaptive suspension with Premium excellent package (I guess the USA has to add a few packages to make up the Canadian Excellent package).
