Did yours move to Ready for Transport? Mine did today. I'm in North Jersey so assuming we'll be on the same boat!

Yes!! It did!! Can’t wait, hopefully it doesn’t take too long to get assigned to a carrier and ship out. Did you happen to get any expected delivery date by your dealer or genius?

I didn't get anything from BMW Genius on an ETA and my dealer estimated about a month from this point. Did you get an ETA from either of them? I'm also getting the MPE port installed but it sounds like that should hopefully only add a day or two. Definitely happy with how fast it was built. I placed the order January 26th so just about 2 weeks.

Nice, I thought mine was quick at 3 weeks lol. Nope nothing I called the genius today and they just said the car is on the way to the port, once assigned to a ship carrier they would have more info as far as expected delivery date.

Thanks for the video. Helps me appreciate all that goes into getting our ‘babies’ safely to us. Does your car unload at Brunswick? The RCC Compass just docked in Baltimore late last night. That should be my get off point. Hope to see it in about 1 week! Enjoy!!! Will you post pics?

Update! 430i convertible is "At the port!"

Hopefully about another 6-8 weeks for delivery to the BMW Performance Center for pickup! No delivery date info from dealer yet.

I’d estimate 3-4 weeks for you till it hits performance center.

Mine’s still sitting at port waiting for a west coast ship to fill so it probably won’t shift to “in transit” status till the end of this week.

Are you guys estimating longer wait times post-completion due to location (i.e. West Coast)?? I mentioned in a previous post the BMW Genius guy quoted me arriving to my (Ohio) dealership 2-3 weeks post-completion date, which mine is 2/18, so potentially early March... don't want to get my hopes up unnecessarily.

(the other main variable I can think of is I see several of you listing coming from Germany.. I don't know for sure but have assumed mine is just coming from SLP Mexico.. so maybe it's a little faster. Still don't want to get my hopes up if all their BMW Genius quotes are inaccurate anyway)..

Yes, refer to the link in the first post in this thread - west coast tends to sit at port for 5-7 days vs 2-3 for east coast. Longer transit times on top of that due to having to cross the Panama Canal. So I'm estimating mid to late March now for mine since it's still listed as being at the port. Shipping times can vary from ~2-6 weeks, but I highly doubt mine would make it from Germany to San Diego in 2 weeks - that tends to be more east coast shipments that arrive that fast. So I'm giving it 30-45 days, where 45 is typically the outlier. If it arrived before then it would still be probably around 3-4 weeks...hence, mid March.

All G22 M440s come from Germany I believe, while G20 M340s come from Mexico unless they're an individual build (TBII, Dravit Grey, or another individual color).

My mineral grey M340i xDrive started production last week in SLP

Thinking about having the M Performance CF rear lip spoiler installed at the port. Anyone know if this will add to the timing and by how long?

Will keep group updated as things progress.

From what I've read, adding options at the port only adds 1-3 days.

Called BMW customer service canada today. Finally the car is being shipped. I have checked the wallenius wilhelmsen schedule, looks like it departed Bremerhaven on Feb 10th. Should be reaching Halifax shore on the 26th... I may take delivery by first week of March if I am lucky..

*Of note, yesterday since I happened to be *obsessively* hawking the refresh button.. I literally refreshed each time during the change to see at 3 AM new update to 'Exterior body assembly begins' (which was not there the night before, was still 'production begins' which it had been at for about 1.5 weeks), to 6-7 AM paint booth, 11 AM assembly line, 1 PM assembly in progress, 4:30-5:30 ish switched to Quality check. This morning now says "Final Assembly". Now, I know that the updater is not that accurate so bear in mind that all of these could've happened last week lol. However, I did see it update in step-wise fashion throughout yesterday and this morning, rather than all of a sudden jump from 'Production Begins' to --> 'Final assembly' etc. I see many of you have been reporting decently fast production/build timeframes, so maybe these cars are built in 2 days lol.

Now that I'm at Final Assembly, and sleepless as a result, I am going to get some rest. LOL

Thank god I didn't know about this order tracking facility when I waited from 12th December 2019 until 1st September 2020 for my G20 330e.

Being locked in the house with the wife and kids for how many months was hard enough 🤫

According to the maritime trackers, it should hit the San Diego port on March 13th. Which means probably in 2-3 weeks is when it will go through the Panama Canal. I don't feel like subscribing to the tracker that gets you expected arrivals more than 24h out though so I'll just be tracking it daily unless someone who's already subscribed wants to post the info here for when it's expected to hit the locks. I do want to watch it go through.

330ix from Munich factory

I've been watching my tracking tool and my new 330ix was finished on the 12th and now shows as being at the port. Based on the WBA vin, it appears as if it was built in Munich - which is surprising as all of the cars on the dealers lot have a 3 vin which would indicate Mexico.

My current 330 and my wife's x1 both show they were shipped to Baltimore in 2017 and 2019.

Any idea how long the cars wait at the port, how long the ocean trip takes, and how you get the name of the ship?

thanks!

First post in this thread has all the answers and more.

- about 2-5 days at port
- about 20-45 days ocean trip
- Dealer can provide name of the ship or you can spend the time digging through their websites w/ your VIN.

430i convertible is on the way!

Just downloaded this info tonight. Arrives in Baltimore on 3/1. My CA feels it should be at the PFC on 3/5. Waiting to get a confirmed PU date.
