BMW's way of packaging these extras was annoying at the time. But it was more annoying because I didn't know. The car I sat in at the showroom had them and I asked the salesman what was not included as standard, he said you get everything except the electric-seat-adjustment, he conveniently forgot to mention these and a few other things but I wasn't going to pay thousands more for extra storage I didn't need.
I've actually bought the module second hand off ebay, just need to install it, but difficult cos the holes aren't there in the rear console.

I saw today that there is a new app available, the M Laptimer. This one showed up without updating the software of the car. The same happened last year witb the eZone and the Automatic Windows apps, they just suddenly showed up.

Still haven’t had the M Laptimer pop up for me. Might not be available in the US

Oddly it's available for Apple devices and can be downloaded from iTunes. Not sure why it can't be available for Android. It has poor reviews however. I did notice a separate app called M Performance Drive Analyser available in the Google Store however. Not sure how that compares.

Having said that, I wonder whether the M Laptimer as shown in his iDrive menu actually stores data like it does on the smartphone app. Everything I see about this function talks about using your smartphone.

Not sure whether anyone noticed this behavior. This applies ONLY to those who have Parking Assistance package with parking cameras.

When you park your car and if you manually fold the side mirrors using the button inside your car door. Then if you try to access the Remote 3D view from the mobile app, you will not be able to see the full 360 view of your car, it will say "Remote 3D View cannot be displayed: Side mirrors are folded".

But if you configure your iDrive settings to automatically fold the side mirrors when you lock the car. Then the Remote 3D view from your mobile app will work.

Here is another feature I have noticed last week. If you use Navigation and lets say you are in the 6th lane and you have to take an exit in the 1st lane with in next mile or two. The map guides you very well, as it shows the current position of your car (meaning on which lane your car is in) and it will show that I need to cross x number of lanes to get to the exit.

This was really helpful, when you are really in a busy highway and you have to switch from one end to other end. What is even better that this transition from 6th lane to 1st lane also clearly shows in HUD, which is really cool.

New car arrived today, 330e, putting fuel in I noticed the fuel flap won't open if any door is open, took me a while (1000 presses) to figure that out...

My G30 didn't do that...

I found out when auto start/stop is on along with auto hold, and the car in front of you begins moving forward, the engine will turn back on to prepare you to accelerate. Nice little touch.

Here is another cool and life saving feature that 3 series offers. Other day when I was driving on a highway, an idiot besides my lane was using his mobile while driving on a highway almost 80 miles per hour and he was on my blind spot & driving almost in my lane. Luckily my car monitored the situation and sounded a loud beep and steered me away from the possible side collision. I was so glad to know that the sensors and radars do work on the sides (even though you haven't turned on the turn signal) & irrespective of whether you are driving straight in your lane or about to switch lanes.

Note: Not sure whether you need parking assistance package or Driving Assistance Professional package or both for this to work, I have both in mine & glad to have this feature.

The OTA update for the iDrive brought the new app.

Indeed, quite spooky how it opens the mirrors temporarily to take the pictures too

learned that if you set the small toggle next to the mirror adjustment towards the driver mirror, the left side mirror will tilt downwards when you reverse. Nice touch to avoid curbing your wheels. pity that you can't control the tilt, in my case it tilts so much that I can't see the wheels anymore!

Buy bimmercode. You can use that to code the tilt angle. I set mine to 50% (or less I think). With the original settings, it tilts way too much. I prefer Audis method for that. You can adjust how much the mirror tilts (basically any angle you want) in Audis.

I wonder if you can do this on Rams/Jeeps too? They tilt so far down they are useless.

Some have said they experience their Auto Start/Stop starting when vehicle in front of them begins to move at traffic light before they lift their foot of the brake pedal...is it just me or is anyone else not experiencing this? Mine is just behaving like your typical start/stop.

Maybe...I havent used cruise yet. The way it was spoken about made it appear to be a regular occurrence during normal stop and go driving.
