You haven't answered this

"and have speed limit assistant working manually (have to press set to accept speed limit change) and are just trying to code the auto accept capability?"

I have no idea what your issue is. Did you have SLA already and had to press manually accept? Or did you never have SLA? After coding do you get the option I showed in the pic to auto accept, and is it just just not auto accepting, or are the speed limit signs not appearing?

Where aSLA is coded but restricted by land mask and geolocation, the driver is presented with a message when driving into an unsupported region, In that scenario changing the land masks to FFFFFFFF fixes the issue, but these are EU drivers who already have aSLA but are in an unsupported country.

US drivers that don't have aSLA but have SLA need to make the full coding changes.

IFR,

Beaucoup thanks for your forbearance and help. I now have got aSLA working on my car and have a better understanding of what basic SLA and aSLA do.

Below are three pictures. One is the iDrive with aSLA settings displayed. The other two are of the instrument cluster -- one waiting for me to SET traffic light and the other after I did so.

Still have to check my coding work as there were a few occasions when the car hesitated/staggered in an intersection with the light green and other when the car tried to run a red light

By far and away, this is really very useful for "around town" driving

THANK YOU!!

ifr, RSnic,

I just successfully coded aSLA and TLA on my US model g20 330i running i-step 11/2020 and want to thank you both for the detailed discussion and troubleshooting conversation in this thread. I ran into the same set of issues as RSnic and was able to unblock myself quickly.

I have a question: what is the different between TLA and TLR? Is it possible to use traffic light related functionality with SLA disabled? I tried googling around for bmw documentation but I couldn't find any.

TLA is the assistant that stops the car at red lights.

TLR is the traffic light recognition, which has its own idrive menu, to determine when the light has changed to green and warn the driver to set off if they arent paying attention.

TLA will recognise red lights with aSLA disabled, but won't stop for them as I recall.

Not sure, it's not a common use case.

Work it out via testing and post back to the community.

How did you get on i-step 11/2020? mine is stuck on 3/2020 and refuses to update through idrive or the android app.

Alex.
I got it updated at the dealer when I bring the car in for service. There's an issue with my automatic seat heater and remote start that can only be fixed by updating to 11/2020, so they did it for free.

I unlocked aSLA, TLA and RGA by 'cracking' the land masks for those features. They are locally coded on the car and have bitmasks (converted from hex to binary) that determine what features and the extent of those feature, that are allowed for a car based on its geolocation.

It's my position that the CD services that rely on geolocation, cannot be unlocked using local car coding, because the decision is made in cloud.

That said, I haven't looked for this particular feature, so you're welcome to try, but I suspect you will be out of luck.

The R360 feature looks to be activated in 8081\C_XV3D_AVAILABLE_R360

Looks to be a binary on/off with no corresponding land masks that would provide granular enablement across multiple countries.

Incidentally, C_XV3D_WATCHDOG_ACTIVE looks interesting... future feature....?

What is RGA?

What's needed to get this coded in my car? I just got updated to 11/2020.44 from the dealership. It however didn't enable the lane change assist, so I need to code that but I do have drive assist pro. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bump. I also have a 330 with driving assist pro, however, it was built before the date range BMW is implementing in. Would be great if a step by step guide for BimmerCode could be put together. I'm not sure why BMW excluded the earlier built cars - frustrating

Rescue alley, aka emergency lane formation.
