Cost for M Performance Parts installed at port?

I see that there is a list of a number of M Performance parts available for G20s. If you opt to order a car and have one or more M parts installed at the port, is the cost just the list price of the parts? Is there an additional installation cost if having it done at port?

For instance, the M Performance exhaust is, list price, around $1800. Would ordering it port installed cost more than that?

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure about this but I remember reading around here somewhere that parts that are ordered to be installed at port will be installed for free.

Here's my port installed price sheet.
I am leasing so I'm only paying a fraction of the total cost over the course of 36 months as those items are residualized into the lease.
If you are buying the car I wouldn't go port install.

Is this a 2021 MY? Is there a CF interior trim option?

Thank you! This is super helpful. What is the M Performance rear trim? Any pics of your car with all these parts installed? Thanks

Just a quick note there are more reasons to get port installed beyond lease residualiztion...

port installed options have an invoice price usually 10-20% below msrp, so there are savings to be had vs sticker msrp

Port installed options count just like any factory option and are fully covered on the factory warranty vs the much shorter accessory warranty (even if you have a dealer install before you take delivery you are on the accessory warranty)

MY20 here are some pics. The rear trim must be ordered with the rear diffuser. I removed the side sticker decal M performance as it must be ordered with lower rocker panel blade.

Keep in mind if you get wheels swapped at the port, you dont get your original wheels back so you may want to do that after the fact.

Thanks, everyone, for all the info! Does anyone have a full list of M Performance parts that can be port-installed, with the port installed prices?

It seems like the prices are a bit different from the part prices, as MUFCbmwbear's list shows the MPE at $2000, but some places say the list for the part alone (as a later install), is $1840. Just trying to figure out what's available to be port installed, and at what cost.

Is your car's black grill the port installed black kidney grill? Or you painted the stock cerium grill black? I am under the impression that the port installed black grill is single slad style instead of this, but I do think the stock M340 style when blacked out looks best.

You can get MPE for way cheaper than that if you do your research. Ask Mike at XPH or Evan Tischer

Although they don't charge extra for installation, the price of installation is figured into the price charged. So not technically free. I had cf mirror caps done at port

Yes, but if you are leasing it’s much cheaper to install at port and residualize the cost. Essentially it only costs you 40% or so (less whatever additional discounts you negotiate, too!). And you don’t have to worry about storing the stock exhaust and swapping for lease return. And then the trouble of selling the MPE. For leases, if you want MPE, I think port install is probably best.

Correct- I just wanted to wait on other exhaust systems so I didn't pull the trigger on the MPE. Want to get rid of the trapezoidal tips

Does anyone know why the mpe isn't available on BMW's page for an 2021 m340i? I see plenty of folks with them on 2021 models, but my dealer insisted this part wasn't available. I am looking to purchase this from getbmwparts.com, but my VIN shows as invalid. Any help would be appreciated.

I wanna get the 796M winters as port accessories for my soon-to-order G22 but my dealer can't do the winter set as port installed accessories can only like regular accessories on the part dept. counter so at the end the cost become out of whack and I own the set at the end of the lease.

So frustrating ...

Oh really? I added the winter set to my lease and they will be returned with the car at the maturity of the lease contract.

Yeah really annoying, they'll do as a regular accessories @ 2422 cost but if I do port accessories they said @ 3375 cost (due to weight & s/h from Germany) .

What crazy is as port accessories I pay fraction of the cost and return at the end of the lease (I get the understanding, it's a 'rental') but at 3375 cost and as regular accessories I own it at the end of the lease, the stupid thing is look like the break down is so out of whack look like at the of 36 mos lease end up paying 3000+ of the 2422 as the regular accessories.

That's unfortunate. I felt that adding the winter set to my lease was a no brainer. First, I get the $2,4xx cost residualized and discounted through my deal. Second, I don't have to worry about selling them after 3 years.

Interesting that you guys get wheels/tire packages residualized given the wear/tear nature of the part.
