M340I 245/35/20 tires rubbing the front strut

Hi, I bought 245/35/20 tires because I saw some guys here running 245/35/20 tires on the front. I test fitted them and tire is rubbing the spring cover of the strut. What is the problem it will be? how can I run 245/35/20 tires?

Get some spacers to push the wheel away from the strut tower

Are you running these on stock wheels?

5mm spacer should solve your problem.

What's the wheel spec?

I'm running a 19x9 +32 with a 255 upfront, no issue. Granted I have a sportline 330i with passive dampers. From my understanding, the adaptive dampers are slightly thicker.

I don't think so. What's the sidewall size? Also, is the tire making contact or rim?

You issue is the wheel specification rather than the tyre size.
Check the below link to an offset calculator which might provide some guidance

I run 235/35R20 on an aftermarket 8.5 rim.
(275/30R20 on 9.5 rim on the rear)

I run 15mm spacers on the front, but not because it catches, but to poke the wheels out flush.

You've got a few choices.

1: Try spacers. Cheapest and easiest option.
2: Change to a narrower front tyre.
3: Change to a narrower front rim.

If it were me, I'd try option 1
