MHD for the 2020 M340i
I am currently running MP stage 2, and I love everything about it except the burbles. With the dinan exhaust, burble mode on is too loud, and burble mode off has no burbles. I thinking about switching to MHD where I can adjust the burble sound level and duration. My question is how is MHD on the g20 m340i?

I know MHD can set the burbles to OEM, HARD, or LIGHT. Same as Bootmod3. I am using bootmod3 stage 2(V2.2) right now with a catless downpipe, and I can say that I am not happy with bm3. The car seems to have miss fires around 1800-2500rpm. When you off the gas paddle or after hard accelerate, the car won't burble even. I set the Aggression of burble in sport mode to 10. Reported to Customer service a month ago, still nothing...
People seem to like MP tune better because they make their tune stable before launching it. Maybe you should email MP and let them add an option in the setting for how aggressive the burbles are?

I was on the same boat as you. Have mission performance stage 2 and I can't stand the fact my burbles are gone.
Email Alex and tell him you want to have more burbles and pops. If you have a video of what you want the burbles and pops to be like that will help. Don't tell him you want to go balls to the wall with your burbles, he did it for my friend and my friend couldn't handle it lol.

subd. Mhd rocks on N54's, 55's, and S55 so I cant see why it wont be the same on B58's. Even though the N54's are 10+ years old they continue to update it.

I have had 4 different tunes so far. A bench flash tune from a local tuner (Kassel performance), an MP tune (stage 2+ e50), a custom dyno tune from Kassel performance using BM3, and now the MHD stage 2 e40 from their latest update.
The tunes I have had from the local tuner have been frustrating because they have produced a lot of power but always have issues with intermittent limp mode under certain acceleration situations, inconsistent throttle closers, and some other small issues like the power gauges not being changed and burble adjustment functioning correctly. It took weeks of going back and forth with the tuner for revisions to get it to where it was acceptable and my best time was 11.30's at 122 and a 3.4 sec 0-60. MP tune was perfect as far as drivability, no limp mode or codes, power was good. If you are looking for a great set it and forget it tune that will produce results and take longevity and reliability serious then this is probably for you. The only down falls I have had are communication with Alex by email if you have any questions about getting more. He has never even responded to one email (out of several sent) concerning getting more out of the tune. What you get is what you get unless you have a problem. He is quick to respond to any issue you have with loading the tune. The lack of any measure of adjustability or datalogging was also an issue. I understand that MP is getting ready to release a new app that will address this but so far it is still not available. My performance with MP was a best of 11.5 at 120 in the same spot and conditions as my other testing. Keep in mind this is all MY experience and others may have had different experiences. This is a great option for most. I just this week installed the MHD newest version of their stage 2 e40 tune. So far I am very impressed. I have not had the time to dragy test it yet but it feels as fast or faster then the custom tune. They have claimed dragy results of 10.89 I believe with low 3sec 0-60. I will put that to the test soon. So far the drivability has been awesome and no limp mode issues or any strange behavior. The performance gauges read 560hp and 640tq which I like but is purely trivial I know. It has all the same basic features as BM3 with adjustability and logging (although BM3 just added multi map, anti lag, and flex fuel options). I actually have also tried OTS maps from BM3 and the JB+ but did not find the need to talk much about them since gains were minimal and if anyone asks I will be happy to expand upon that. Hopefully my OCD with finding the perfect tune for me will result in others making the right decision for them without spending $3k on tuning, LOL. I still haven't tried Ecutek, LOL. There is a lot that could be expanded upon about the above options so feel free to ask if you have any questions about it. I only have dyno figures from the custom dyno tune on a Mustang dyno so not as comparable as Dynojet figures but the 1/4 mile numbers are more real world anyway.

Update on the new MHD stage 2 e40 tune. Still perfect drivability and ran 3 dragy passes today. All three were mid 11 at over 122 mph. My traction sucked and 60fts were all 1.85-1.90. Car spun worse out the hole then ever before so the car is definitely making good power. I feel strongly that with better tires or a sticky surface this tune will run bottom 11's and maybe even scratch the 10 second zone with a perfect run. Definitely the best tune I've had so far all around. Next I will get and compare some logs.

Nope, the M340i already has the TU pump. I will say that the logs from my E50 tunes previously showed the pump losing pressure. Never enough to see the car go lean but enough for me to be concerned. I think e40 is really the sweet spot for maximum power potential on the stock turbo with safety in mind. It's one of the reasons the MHD tune caught my eye since they chose e40 and not e50 with their stage 2 tune.

My best times on MP stage 3 E50 (E48)tune are 11.4 @ 121 in the 1/4 mile, 3.4 sec 0-60, and 9.06 60-130. Im also RWD so i needed 265 R888Rs in the rear for these times. Keeping in mind Alex created a really safe and reliable tune, those numbers are great. Especially if you plan on keeping your car for long. But, as always, i cant help but wonder how much more the car can handle/push out on stock internals. Safely of course. I was already looking into MHD after a bad experience with BM3 knocking and misfires on the f30 platform and you've kind of convinced me. Edit: FWIW, MP Stage 2 93 is the absolute perfect daily tune. Can you log MP tune with MHD? |

To the OP:
At least you HAVE burbles! My 2021 model doesn't have any, at least any that I can discern

Side note: if your tune is misfiring on BM3, you can send a log to PTF. Since they created the OTS maps, they can clean it up. They will work on the tune to fix it. I am guessing no one has done this yet, that is why BM3 seems to be terrible for the M340i. Where as on the F30 platform Bm3 runs amazing across the board. People are doing low 11 and high 10's on OTS maps. I plan to tackle this issue with PTF once I get a bench unlock soon.

My 2020 M340ix makes a noise from somewhere around the radiator about 1-20 seconds after start up and then about 60 secs after engine shutdown. Same noise from the same spot. If I remove the tune (MHD stage 2 with DPs) the noise does not occur.
It is like a mechanical noise of something opening or closing followed by a clunk. I have captured it, link below. Weird Noise |

If it still has problems I might try the multi map instead.
