M340i tires- any Pirelli feedback ?

After 13k miles I need no rear tires, fronts prob have 5k left on them. I don't want to spend the high price for Bridgestone again, looking at getting 4 new Pirelli PZero runflats instead. I do a lot of longer road trips so a bit afraid of putting on non-runflats (since I don't have a spare) and don't want any hassles on the lease return as well if they try to ding me for not having non-runflats
My other option would be Conti Sport Contact5

Avoid the Bridgestones. As for Pirelli (Cinturato or P Zero?) vs Conti, depends on price.

Spent a little more for Michelin Pilot 4S's. They might seem a lot more, but they do outlast all of the above by a big margin.
I will never buy Continental (noise unbearable after 10K miles) or Bridgestone (worst performing tires in the wet I ever had) again.

My MY20 came with P-Zero run flats.

They are above average - extremely silent with decent but not incredible amounts of grip. Remains to be seen how long the compound will last.

Pilot Sport 4S or nothing.

Runflats or cheaper tires on a sports car is a sin.

You bought a m340i, def not a cheap car. That car deserves a set of PS4S.

Actually they are very well priced (less than run flats)
My 2 concerns were getting stranded on the road but I guess I can just pick up a mobility kit. The other was on the lease return, anybody have experience with retuning a car that originally had run-flats and now they don't? I certainly don't want to be dinged for 4 new tires next year

You definitely have to turn it in with run flats.

PS4's is the way to go, will transform the ride quality and grip levels. I've done 13k km on mine and still have lots of tread.

Keep you current run-flats to put them back on before returning the car, if they still have enough thread-depth to pass the final inspection.

Unfortunately the current run-flats are toast so I can't put them back on.
As much as I want Ps4's , the thought of buying 4 now then 4 run-flats next summer when I return the car does not seem like a good idea
Hence just looking for the lesser evil of the run-flat options out there.

You need to return the car with runflats. Depending on how picky your dealer is, they might even require you to install BMW "Star" marked tires.

On a leased car, it is best to option the car with the cheapest wheel & tire combo or take them off after delivery, install your wheels and tires of choice then return the car with what it came with.

Or your other option is to buy new tires for the next owner.

I couldn't agree more though I haven't even driven my M340i yet. I swear by Michelin Pilot Sport series tires all the way back to earlier generations. I specifically ordered my car with the optional Cooling and High Performance Tire Package specifically not to get run flats. I'm praying that I end up with PS4s!!

I agree 100%. I have 20" P-Zero summer RFT and they are extremely quiet and I can corner at incredible speeds. Very impressive tires.

Now to the winter tires... I'm running Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 RFT on 19" wheels and they are extremely LOUD!!!! Almost embarrassingly loud. The handling doesn't compare to the P-zero tires. I can make these tires squeal around corners at high speed. That's nearly impossible to do with the P-Zero tires.

Is it the difference between the 19" and 20" wheels or is it the tires? Maybe both. But I will buy the P-Zero RFT again but definitely will NOT buy the Sottozero 3 RFT again.

FWIW, when researching a vibration issue thought to be related to tires, I drove two M340is back to back with different tires : my own car with 18" Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 run flats (staggered), and my dealer's demo M340i with 19" Pirelli P Zero run flats. Both cars with adaptive suspension. Interestingly, the ride with 19" wheels on P Zeros was noticeably better than my Goodyear 18 inchers. However, I plan to eventually replace the Goodyears with PS4 non-run-flats. (Can't get PS4S in 18").

A seemingly little-known run flat that actually does quite well is the Michelin Primacy3 ZP. I put 225/50-18 on my 330i GT and the transformation from the original noisy, harsh Pirellis was quite significant. Very pleased with this application. I have PS4S on the 2 Series, but the two cars serve very different purposes in our family. The Primacy3 ZP were hard to find. Discount Tire had to order them in that size. Tire Rack has some sizes, but not this particular one.

Thanks I looked them up (they are hard to find for sure!)

No. Michelin has great tires and lousy naming conventions. The name must be exact.

You are comparing apples to oranges.
The Pirelli Sottozero is a high performance winter tire, the PZero is a summer tire. Both are excellent at what they are designed to do.

I pickup my M340i next week and noticed they have Brigdstones, which I am not happy about.
I put Michelin PSS on my 335i and have no complaints

Honestly, I have Bridgestone Turanza RFT's too. I thought it was not good. Right now I am OK with it given the task it has which is as a daily driver. Its smooth at 85 to 130 mph. The problem is that it can feel soft during lane changes. However I am fine with the comfort and quietness it brings. I have 6500 Miles on mine right now. I plan to change it to as AS3 instead of a PS4 given where I live when the time comes. Save mother earth and use up the rubber first.
