I'll admit I'm guilty of reinforcing the stereotype. BMW's attract certain type of people. The car turns you into an arrogant prick.

I'll use turn signals when there's moderate-to-heavy traffic but otherwise I don't bother with them. I generally drive 80-85 in the left lane on Southern California highways.

This is slightly off topic but not sure it's just here in California but since Covid the speed limit on the freeways seem to be 95 on average. It's ridiculous to be getting tailgated in the middle lane doing 90.

I flew by one doing 75 in a 55. I was in the number 2 lane getting passed by people doing 80 in the number one lane, but hey technically still 20 over. We made eye contact and the dude could not have given less of a shit.

Egregious these days seems to be triple digits only.

I gotta say I see more Altima's racing around her like they are doing drifts on a track more than any other vehicle. Pickup trucks and SUV's are way aggressive and have that "I own the road" mentality.

Based on this morning’s drive to the golf course with about 30 min on the freeway through a 55 mph construction zone....

~1/4 were doing a comfy 75-80
~1/8 were doing 80+
~1/8 were doing 60-65
~1/2 were doing 70 in the #3 and #4 lanes

Passed 2 CHP, one clearly checking people’s speed with radar/lidar, the other maybe 2 miles before him doing the usual safety car for construction workers.

The guy passing me at 80+ tapped his brakes and slowed to maybe 70 (again - 55 construction zone) and there’s no way the CHP didn’t see him but we all cruised by doing a steady 70 and he didn’t even flash his lights at us.

I second that. There are fewer and fewer CHP around these days, and those that are around don't seem to bother below triple digit speeds. So the animals come out to play more often knowing they have a better chance of getting away with it. I'll be going 80 in an exit lane and someone will still ride my ass, come around to cut me off, and brake in front of me for a minute straight until we exit. 9 times out 10, it's an SUV. The local cops are taking no mercy, however. My car's become a lady in the streets and a freak in the freeway.

Ahh you might be right! There's one in my neighborhood and he seems pretty proud of it. No offense if anyone here owns one but man they are ugly. It's like they couldn't figure out what they wanted to drive so they got an X6.
