There's a few particular sections of road on my regular commute that bounced my head off the ceiling in my WRX, and even in my Durango are very noticeable.
440 w/o was very uncomfortable and bounced my head though not as hard. M4 handled it well with a bit of bounce. Adaptive floated over it almost as well as my Durango. In the twisties, sure there's minor noticeable difference, but I have no plan to push it as hard as I would on a track - and don't plan on tracking it (aside from maybe the obligatory Laguna Seca lap, because hey it's practically in my backyard). IMO the adaptive is still perfectly capable and stiff enough when railing twisties while being far more comfortable for commuting and normal driving compared to the standard M sport suspension.

To me, any tach is kinda useless unless you're driving a manual, but even then I shift with the feel and sound anyway. I dont' think I'd care if there were no tachs at all in my automatic/Step/PDK cars

I got all the packages: BMW Excellence Package and M-Sport for the G20 330i, M adaptive Suspension, M-Sport Brakes, and Staggered Non-runflats from the factory. Equivalent to the US: Premium, Executive, M-Sport, shadowline, Driving Assistance Professional packages. (Missing the track handling package) but for Canada, the items in the track handling package are a la carte selected: M-adaptive suspension, LSD, and Blue M-Sport brakes.
Missing the M-Performance Exhaust, and the optional LSD for the G20 330i Last edited by WXdrivefun; 03-02-2021 at 05:23 PM.. |

Thanks for all the input, this thread turned to be quite a nice conversation.
After thinking it about for a few days, I’ve decided that next week, when I place my order, I’ll order the Live Cockpit Pro and the HUD as well - I just dont want to miss them later (although they are going to be expensive investments with regard to the EU prices ) To be fair, I drove a few cars with HUD, and I found it a really useful feature. As I’ve heard, the “new” BMW HUD (which is in the G20 as well) is quite a nice one with nice colors and good readability - can y’all confirm it? |

-Speed -If exceeding the road speed limit, the speed limit sign flashes on the HUD -Displays navigation arrows and distance when to turn -Displays the rev colour bars when in sport mode and can be adjusted in the main menu to not display so. -I find the HUD a great feature to check you speed at eye level while still looking in ahead of the road, instead of looking down at the main cockpit display. |

Yes it is, the HUD has its own menu settings. It's definitely worth it . The navigation showing up in the HUD is brilliant

When I test drove the 2021 M340xi which did not have the adaption suspension
and hit a rough section on the road my wife looked at me with a disappointed look and I knew then that I was going to check it on my order, the difference in comfort is night and day without sacrificing performance, adaptive suspension is a no brainier. |

Agreed though. You might sacrifice a single-digit percentage in performance that 99% of us can't or won't be pushing the limits of anyway, and in return you get a massively better ride.

Well, we'll see whether I regret not opting for the adaptive suspension. I doubt it though as I'm used to having stiff suspensions and the roads are not bad where I live.
For those with run flats and no adaptive suspension, I think that will add to the harshness as opposed to normal non-run flats. |

Regrets on what i could have had: M340i instead of 330i we have. Mrs O was not comfortable with going that extra outlay plus I think she really feared I'd drive like a hooligan all the time.
Pissed I missed: The shadowline line lights you can currently get, I'd have hunted that option down 100%! |

Mine was a lot car but exactly how I would have speced it myself with some exceptions:
- Really miss a reverse camera. I knew I would of course. Can't believe it's not standard in Sweden on a BMW. - Better tyres. The oem runflats suck Things I appreciate the most: - The dravit grey and shadowline combo. Never gets old. - HK sound system - Laser lights. The autumns and winters are DARK here. Those lights are incredible. Lastly there's one thing I was unsure about when I bought the car and that is that it's RWD. I was worried I would regret not having xdrive, but the car has been super composed and we've had a lot of snow this winter. Good winter tyres are way more important than xdrive. |
