Thumbs up Launch control BMW m340 from 4.92s to 3.87s

Hi, this is my again, the guy frustrated because had run a BMW m340 and had made 4.92s :

this is the reference link: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...9#post28704719

I will put the context again:

* I own a BMW M340 2021 Xdrive
* I have downpipe VRSF
* I have runflats
* I have K&N air filter
* The huge problem I live on Bogotá DC (8600 ft altitude)

Most of the comments were about the altitude, so, I decided to trip to another city with lower altitude, this time Yopal (1140ft altitude)

There are four things that I changed this time:

1. I didn't use launch control, instead of that I used full brake and DSC OFF, i had read that gives a lot of initial propulsion and that's totally true, when I disabled the DSC the times decrease considerably. Launch control mas making 4.1s, without launch but DSC off i was doing 3.9s.

2. I changed from kilometers to miles on Dragy... that's frustrating because should be the same measure but no, i was losing like 2 tenths when i was using kms/h. :

3. I didn't full all the gas tank, just I used half tank.

4. I changed of gas station brand.

Here is the before (Bogota):

Here is the after (Yopal):

0-100Km/hr is actually 0-62 Mp/hr so thats why there is a difference there!

Good stuff though.

We told you Altitude was the primary reason.
Your car should be even faster at sea level.

Now you can go home and enjoy your 0-60 in 5 secs again
But it is all relative.. all the cars near you should be considerably slower than what they are supposed to be anyway. so you should still be one of the fastest.

I also found that launch control is not good on these cars. I was able to get better times using the same method of holding the brake and using the gas to get to 2500 RPMs before letting off the brake. Glad to hear you are getting better times now.

The M2 and M3 and M4 are able to change the RPM with the left scroll on the steering wheel when they are doing LC, I tried that but my M340 doesn't do anything, TBH, i won't never use again LC I prefer DSC off and brake!

Hard to tell if you're kidding or not but I had a similar thought. I try to use good gas but had to go to a "value" station once and that entire tank felt just a little bogged-down.

RE: this guy's car, I think all of those steps he mentioned may have played a role, to varying degrees.

Totally being serious.

I've had to put supermarket grade crap in before, and honestly the engine felt like it was knocking on it compared to the super I normally use
it's same the same with us humans, if you feed us crap we perform badly.
Feed us the correct nutrients and we break records
