What should I go for....

I currently have a mineral white 320d with the carbon m performance pack on it. As the used car market prices are shooting up, I'm in a good position to change to a M340i.

However I just can't make my bloody mind up between another mineral white or dravit grey, both would be with a carbon roof and the carbon m performance pack on what ever I go for. Both just look damn nice, the performance kit will stand out more on the white but I've already got that colour and the dravit is nice and stealthy looking, plus will be a nice change of colour.

So my choices are as seen in the images and I have created a poll for opinions.

You already have white, go for grey, plus in the pictures you've shown, grey looks better. Thats my opinion

Have you considered Oxide ? I really love mine.

Between both I would choose Dravit, so many white cars on the road..

I have looked at oxide and saw one in person, personally it didn't do much for me. I have been swinging towards dravit tbh.

Love a poll..... but since when has the Carbon roof been an option, not noticed that before?

I'd hang on until you can actually see Dravit Grey in person (if you haven't done already). I was dead set on it while hypothetically spec'ing my 40i; but having ended up with a Tanzanite in the end, I actually have no regrets. TB is probably far more high-maintenance than Dravit, but at the same time a lot more distinctive. To be sure, Dravit is an intriguing colour, with lovely champagne flecks. But its changes and animations only become apparent in the very brightest sunlight--that is, not over the course of a summer like we're having here! If you check out the official Dravit thread, you'll notice that most of the pics are from our US chums, with select portraits of Dravit M340s glistening under brilliant blue Californian or Texan skies. So, when I saw a Dravit example at my local dealer back in overcast April, I got a better insight into how it would generally look on a everyday basis in a less glamorous climate. Not uninteresting; but not as unique as some pictures in full direct sunlight would have you believe.

I was considering that element to dravit, it can change shade so much and with our weather/lack of sun, it will mostly look dark. I think overall I am happy with the colour.

I'm not sure how your 320d being more valuable gets you into an M340i when the current deals on offer are rubbish, relatively speaking....

Maybe a few quid sat in the bank too. Not really the point of the original post.

Equity and a increased discount scheme that I'm eligible for. Not sure why my personal circumstances of how I can upgrade from a 320d as there's no good deals going was mentioned but hey ho.

I think BMW’s colour choices (particularly the non-Individual ones) are quite uninspiring, particularly on the M Sport models. Rather strangely some of the more eye-catching colours are only available on the SE or Sport variants.

I do wonder if it’s a cynical ploy to push customers down the more expensive Individual route.

I think you may have a point there... however the prices are just far too much. For the price of the paint you can pretty much fully load all the option packs, and when I'm sat in the car, I'm not too bothered about the colour.

Would have liked a nice shade of grey or blue, but get far more use out of the gadgets.

Because I see lots of people going "my car has gone up in value so I'm going to sell it and buy a new one" as though the new one hasnt gone up in value...probably by more. So just picking up that point....sorry for being an accountant!

Anyway, to answer your question, white. Dravit should be called drabit in the usual UK weather. And way too many grey cars in the world! But I'm biased as I have white with black wheels and badges - not a BMW but same principle.

Dravit grey if you are going for black grilles IMHO. I've got a mineral white m340 and much prefer the celerium grilles as I think the black ones just look too big to me as they dont integrate as well as they did on the f series (where I did have a black grille). Also I don't like the black wheels as they look smaller but suit the darker cars more.

Anyway no matter what I think its your car but I'd go dravit! The red calipers really do look good as well.

I think its a PCP thing. A new one can be had with roughly the same discount as a year ago (give or take £1500). And at 2.9% APR. However, used values are hilarious, meaning you can swap a car you bought a year ago for a new one with same repayment, same or lower deposit.

You're resetting the clock basically. If you're not interested in owning cars outright, it can make sense to take advantage.

I agreed a deal in April -happy with that. Two weeks prior to delivery I questioned the trade in price and was offered just over £4,000 more on the same deal, a 2.5 year old X3 against my new M440i. I know accounts too - that's a better deal when the price of the new car hasn't risen.
