I've been watching the used market for a 2020-2021 M340 all year. Prices are not really going down fast enough for me.

Just picked up a 2022 M340i xDrive, fully loaded minus the Shadowline package for $55k. Hopefully I did well, especially considering it has less than 5k miles on it. Either way, I’m extremely pleased with the car so far.

Back in 2020 2021, discounts on m340's were nearly 10% off in some metro areas. Now, msrp is the deal, unless you have loyalty.

Meanwhile, back then, bmw probably juiced the residuals, and low mf = low lease payment.

I don't generally ever lease but I'm going to be fascinated to see what bmw does with demand dropping off a cliff. Their leases are absolutely terrible now because the rates are bad, plus they're not discounting their cars, and I feel like they still haven't artificially raised residuals on their leases (to lower the payment for customers). I've already seen m240's and m340's showing up at dealer lots, unspoken for, which even 4 months ago, essentially never happened. As much as I think the m340 is a brilliant car, I'm likely going to deny buying one for the x-teenth time, because it feels like a terribly overpriced purchase with rates and msrp. I think the dream is over for bmw and other manufacturers, and they gotta start giving big discounts in the coming months.
I do the same thing. Virtually shop for cars all day. Can't wait for the market to fall out. Hope you are right.

I think they're coming down with the 2020's getting older and LCI's coming into used inventory off lease.

I searched for 3 months and felt everything was overpriced. Ended up finding a 2022 CPO xDrive with 15,000kms for the money people were asking for 2020's going out of warranty. Paid about $41k when converted to USD. Offer low and keep hunting!

Fellow Canadian here. Would you mind sharing if the price included tax or not and which part of the country you made the purchase?

I have a 2020 m340i with most all options ($69K msrp), if not all, w/ 25K miles on the odometer. BMW gave me a trade in value of $31K today. I was quite surprised. I would have figured low 40s but seems like the trade in market has really tanked. perhaps because dealers have cars on lots for longer time before they sell.
Whatever it is - they lost a trade in and a sale!

That figure was pre-tax. $54,949 CAD plus taxes purchase price, car was out of Quebec.

There's more used ones for sale in Quebec than anywhere else in Canada I found, so perhaps the amount of them on the used market around Montreal forces the dealers to be a little more competitive on pricing. My car was also in their used inventory for 8 months so they were motivated to move it.

$31 is a pretty lowball offer, even now. Assuming average condition, these are still fetching $40 - $43k trade in values.

They will flip and sell for low $40k's if not higher. That's why they low balled you lol

Retail on those is still between $46 - $50 depending on mileage and spec.
