Max Tire Size For Stock Set Up?

Hi everyone,

First time BMW owner and glad to be a part of this community now.

I have a 2024 M340i and I’m curious about tire set up.

I saw another thread about max tire sizes but was getting more and more confused as I read through it so wanted to ask for some assistance lol and my apologizes if I’m posting on the wrong channel.

So I have the 792M 19” M-Double Spoke Bi-Color Jet Black Alloy Wheels with all season run flats - SQUARED set up.

My question is, if I wanted to get larger tires, what is the max I’m able to do without rubbing and without use of spacers? Also, I want to mention, I don’t plan on lowering the car, just want to maybe fill the gaps more if possible, still keeping some meat on the tires but just having that thicker look to them.

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

You won’t fill in the gaps as that is related to a larger diameter wheel + sidewall. If staying with stock wheels, then ideally you can size up 10mm from stock tire size. In this case, from 225 to 235 is ideal. Others have gone up to 245 or 255, however handling will be degraded and I personally would not recommend.

Okay, got it! Thank you! Yeah, I saw some people mention 245/35/19.

So just to be sure, you're saying 235/40/19 right? I definitely don't want to affect the handling of the car so thank you for mentioning that. That is super helpful.

Yes, correct. I run 235/40/19 squared and handling was improved, plus with a better tire such as PS4S. No downsides, all positives.

Perfect! Thank you for verifying that for me! So glad to hear that handling was even improved with those tires. Nice!

Do you happen to have any pics of your car so I can see what it looks like with that tire set up?

Looks really good. I’m looking at getting a set of 825M replicas 19x8F and 19x9R was thinking of going with 235F/265R M440ix saw another user run this set up and verified no rubbing I’m assuming I’d be good.

Yes, you should be absolutely fine with that setup. You only potentially need spacers and camber when sizing up to 255 in the front.
