It seems to me the liberal use of ///M As a prefix for vehicle versioning dilutes the ///M 'prestige'. The ///M shouldn't show up in the rear badging unless it's a ///M car. Just IMO.

You do know BMW has been slapping ///M on M sport cars for decades? At least this go around the ///Mxxx logo may have more bite than bark, and actually be deserving.. since it’s more than just cosmetics. I know I know it’s not a full M, BUT M engineers had a hand in some of the tweaks, right? That must account for something... no? Like I said before! If people purchasing ///Mxxx designated cars are helping to fund R&D for better Bimmers than good for all of us! Dilute prestige? Get over yourself... it’s no more special than any other mass produced item! Any value you see in the car it’s based on YOUR perception, whether it’s a stripper 3 series or loaded M8. And to all of you “it’s not a real M” crowd ... feel free to jump ship and go to a more prestigious brand... I’m too lazy to look, but I wonder if this BS occurred on the ///M550 section. That car seems to get a little more respect (???).

Hey! I got an idea!
Everyone that feels the ///M is now worthless due to brand saturation, can send their cars to me!! How about that!? Guess it’s time to ignore the trolls! Ms. X6M2016 is praising an X4M40d. Oh so THAT’S ok to use the ///M badge???

Those M arguments are useless. Parts are parts.
-The car with limited slip dif is going to put power down better coming out of the corner - The 374MM brakes with brembo calipers are going to stop the car the same no matter if you have M letter on them or not (it matters what pads you use more than anything else) - regular 3 series with proper coil over suspension is going to out-handle stock m3 at the track Model separation is for marketing - CSL customers are looking down at CS who is smirking at M Comp who in turn feel superior to M peeps. Civic M cars stand no chance and M performance is the lowest on the M totem pole. BMW has created the wealth-marketing pyramid and is milking it to its fullest. |

Please stop the Fking madness! I don’t give a damn what the label says, if I get some enjoyment great! We’re all consumers! Otherwise we would not be on this site talking about mass produced vehicles! No I’m not equating M340 to M Hell I drive an M4 !! So now what? It’s not a CS?! And so what?? My main concern is how the fk do I feel driving it.. Last edited by BigSky702; 04-11-2019 at 07:53 PM.. |

I don't get the hype about Dravit Gray. Why should I have to spend $2,000 extra to get a generic gray that's free on a Honda Accord?
I'm going to order Black Sapphire Metallic when my lease is up because the Cerium bits just look plain weird on most exterior colors. And apparently Portimao Blue seems to have a lot of purple tinge in certain lighting? |
