Just got my M340. The "remote" tab isn't functioning at all in the ConnectedDrive app, and instructs me to contact BMW Assist. So it would appear I'm in the same bucket as all you folks.

This is excruciatingly embarrassing. The agent I spoke to acknowledged they were aware it's an ongoing problem.

So after about a month of connected drive not working it has slowly started to work. Literally day by day features start to work. First location, the next day gas level, the next window status and finally remote start. Very weird.

Mine only works right after I turn off the car and only for a minute or two and then doesn't work after that.

Never updates in the app. Just when I turn off the car. Very annoying

Mine works fine now. The agent I spoke to was an idiot. Not sure if I got lucky or it's something that I did:

- went through all options on the app (enabling and reviewing that everything looked correct)
- went through all settings on iDrive (enabling, confirming enabled a few times)
- logged into below website and ensured my account was active as well as all features were enabled:

And every feature now works fine. No issues with CarPlay today.

I took delivery on 7/8. My dealer may have applied an update prior to me picking up my vehicle.

Beyond that, in iDrive, I confirmed I'm running the latest version of software.

This connected app is the only thing that is driving me nuts about this car. I feel like I am giving free money to bmw since the sticker says remote start and I do not have remote start

Update: This morning the app appears to have "disconnected" from the ConnectedDrive services while at work. I'll have to see if re-enabling it through the website and/or iDrive in the vehicle remedies this.

Same thing happened to me today. I re-enabled through the website, and the message went away. But when trying 3D view for instance, it's stuck at connecting to server.

Everything was working fine till last night.

Just did the same and it's connected again.

I'll post back if it drops in the coming hours/days. Perhaps we can detect patterns to determine if it's something serverside on BMW's end, or sporadic/random depending on a unique vehicle.

Mine suddenly got disconnected last night. Went to the ConnectedDrive website and remote service was somehow disabled. Click to enable again and it's all good now.

Mine is a 19' 330xi and yesterday (7/19) functions with the remote control stopped working. After I deleted the app and re-installed it again, my vehicle information just disappeared in the application. And when I was trying to add the vehicle information, it was saying 'there is a connectivity issue'.

I got shocked with the BMW connected drive service availability, I myself is a first time Bimmer and just got the car on Tuesday. And I'm also a software engineer primarily working on backend services (where BMW didn't do quite well IMO), and what my professional knowledge told me was that service unavailability is the most important part in modern server applications and it's where you can lose customers if you did a bad job...

Any one with the same issue?

Wow, this is very disheartening to read. Waiting on my new 330i to be delivered to the dealer, and kind of shocked BMW has let these issues persist so long.

Is there anything I can/should tell the dealer to do to help remedy any of this before I pick up the car, like updating software, etc? Or are these problems strictly due to issues with BMW's system/servers?

Not sure anyone else has run into this but just in case... I had connected drive on my old car and BMW changed a policy in which you now have to log into the connected drive portal online and "check the box" to accept use of all features and connections. Can't do it directly from the mobile app anymore. Evidently somewhere along the way someone was able to gain access to a BMW that wasn't their's. Whoops!

So if you see "Call BMW Assist" from the mobile app you might be able to save some time on the phone by just logging in online and making sure you've accepted use of the application.

FWIW, CD has been working perfectly on my M340i since it sprang back to life on 6/28. It's always worked in my '18 X3.

Sympathies to those still having issues!

But for those waiting on a delivery, I wouldn't sweat it too much. Don't assume it won't work if you don't even have a car yet. CD has been flaky on-and-off for a while, but it's not just universally broken for everyone. Just make sure your delivery person has gone through the steps to activate it. Ideally, it should all be working before you even leave the lot.

I posted this in another thread but thought I would add here for people tracking issues.

I had an issue with idrive malfunctioning during carplay use, dropping the connection and the bc stalk concurrently not working. The bc stalk not working was a new one for me after a month of reliable idrive/connected app and CarPlay functionality. Restarted the system and reloaded phone and all is working normal again....

Anyone else have this issue arise?

FYI, looks like the BMW Connected Android app just updated.

The other commands have been working for me for a couple weeks now, but this is the first time I've had a climatize button on the android app. It even works.

I'll check it again tomorrow, but for right now:
