I would have to take it apart to show you, so I can’t do that. The camera itself comes off the old grill. Clips right off the grill. When you buy your new grill with the parking assistant, you will see the opening and where it clips back in.

I couldn't find any installation help, but I figured it out. Thought I would share. Some of these pics were taken after I got the new grill on, just to show placement of pins.

This is quick and easy. All you need is a flat head screwdriver, an allen wrench/hex key, and about 15 minutes.

Step 1: Find and remove 6 plastic push-pins with a flathead screw driver. They are located here:

Step 2: Remove the weather stripping and pull back plastic piece. There will be a bolt to remove with an Allen wrench/hex key marked here:

Step 3: Pop the tabs holding the grill in place. Look at the back of your new grill to see the locations. The visible ones are marked here:

Step 4: After removing the old grill, pop the new grill into place and check the same tabs to make sure it is properly installed. Replace the hex bolt:

Step 5: Position the plastic cover back into place, and replace the 6 push-pins and the weather stripping:

You're all set. Here is the finished product on my vehicle:
What size hex key did you use for step 2?

Just did mine this morning it was pretty simple . It took about 20 minutes bc i had a little trouble with the clips on the grill but i think i was just bieng to cautious with it bc once i gave it some force while holding down the clips it popped right out. This is something anyone can do at home with a flathead screwdriver and a torques bit i believe it was a t30. No need for dealership install. Heres a before and after

This was extremely helpful, however I did pop one of the push pin connectors into the engine bay from Step 1, does anyone know where I can order a replacement? I couldn't find it anywhere, it's likely long gone by now after driving this week.

There was a problem.

Good morning.
Proceed according to the contents, gap occurs.

In addition, some hoods do not close well.

QUESTION: Some of you posted pics where the door frames were blacked out as well -- did you wrap with vinyl? plastidip? or replacement parts? (etc)...

Thanks!
It's easy to pull out the middle pin
It was too hard to pull the entire pin.

There is no gap in the grill?
I do not have a gap or the bonnet closes well.

Struggling

I'm ok until I get to step 3 popping the tabs. The grille seams fixed pretty firm. Is there any good method to release the old grille?

I just did mine, it's in pretty tight. There are 3 tabs on each side, press the left most one down and while it is down also try to get the middle one down. You will have to put some force into it to loosen, then the one closest to the middle. Maybe get a helper to push down on two and you do the 3rd and pull. It will sound scarier than it is! Then repeat the other side, once it all tilts out, it should be easy to remove it as the bottom won't give you any trouble.

Hi themnmd

I was wondering how easy it was to replace the normal M Sport lower grills for the m340i grills? Did you have fog lights before?

Do the push-pins just lever upwards using the flat head screwdriver ? Did any of them break ?
Thank you

Thank you for the tutorial. Getting the clips to release was the hardest part of this.

Can anyone clarify a few things please?

1. How do you remove the round plastic pins without scratching or damaging the plastic?

2. Are the clips that need to be popped out to remove the original grill part of the grill surround or separate pieces?

Thank you.
