Removing my mirror caps - any tips?

Guys anyone followed this video to remove their mirror caps?

I've seen the other video on YouTube here with seems WAY more involved

Ive also seen that some people have snapped bits trying to remove them, anyone have any tips to share or maybe BMW instructions please?

I thought I saw a post somewhere but I'm using the app and searched but couldn't find any other posts, sorry if there is one in advance.

It's not hard at all if you are a little bit handy.
Just tilt the mirror all the way down en release the two clips inside and carefully remove the cap with the help of a plastic tool.
It pops right off and then unscrew 3 screws to remove blinker. That's it.

Good video like the way i do it:

Just watch the movies and go for it

Thanks 😊 I saw that video and wasn't sure if it's the same for the G20. Have you removed them yourself using that method?

Will need to have a gander at that vid as previously watched the Kies video& read comments on the US which suggested it could be really easy to crack the glass.

The glass is fragile indeed, so I am not a fan of Kies his way for removing the mirrorcaps.
Do it the safer way like I said above

If I tried prying the mirror apart like in the video, I know I would crack the glass and sever the wires. Good job I have no intention of that mod!

I just removed the rear cover, no way I would use kies method. He makes it look easy and I tried it but got too scared incase it broke. In the end I bought a plastic set of wing cover remover from amazon.

It does take a good bit of force, more than you'd think, but as long as you go from the centre bottom part of the glass and use a tool that's thick enough not to flex you should be ok. The 'pop' or 'crack' when you do release the glass is most satisfying

I did this yesterday. There is no need to remove the glass and risk breaking it, just put the mirror to the bottom and using a flashlight to see clearly and a flat head screwdriver just pop out the brackets holding the caps (two pairs), it's easier if you use a screwdriver with a wide head so you can move the top and bottom at the same time just by rotating it in the center.

I'd definitely try the process given in the 5series video vs the Kies.
