I just read an article saying the manual is confirmed on bmwblog. what a crazy time to be alive, hanging onto crumbs concerning the future of 3 pedals...i certainly would not have gotten rid of my 6MT F80 for a CS if i knew i was never getting another manual m3...

It's just funny how critical people are getting for information that isn't confirmed and won't be for months. It's all speculation and anything can change from today at this point. All it takes for one Marketing Director to send out an email with new metrics and these things can completely shift.

Looking good!

The grip levels look good to my eyes over previous mules and generations of M3/4 models.

I just hope they don’t ruin the styling on this one.

There is no one in germany that challenges you. I have never ran into that. Most drive at 170-190 some will go up to max.

Besides its a carrara S, so its not like it has any sort of magical abilities.

I found when I drove a GTR is when all the honda ricers would challenge you. Reving up their civics till it blew. LOL.

An M3 is good enough to take down a modified 458.

Word.

I drove a CS a couple of weeks ago and it was excellent. However, for me the ZCP F80 6MT > F80 CS.

Nail, meet coffin.

Seems like BMW is in a bit of turmoil currently given leadership changes.

But...in my heart...I still have hope.

And, if not, I'll hang on to my current BMWs and perhaps get past my "mid-life crisis" perception of 911s. . (No offense!)
Mid life crisis? All I see is old dudes driving Porsche's with one foot in the grave. No offense
Mainly because they are the only ones who can afford them.
My issue is that they can't drive them. Grandpa has a nice car that he can barely drive and putts around the neighborhood doing the speed limit. Such a waste of a good car.
Like most ///M drivers.

Somewhere there is an old guy on a Porsche forum complaining about young punks trying to challenge him on the highway.

Do you all ever think that the older guys have "been there and done that" and have no further interest in a "whose is bigger" contest on the highway?

#savethemanuals
I agree. The only tools running around challenging people in high end performance Porsche's are the same douches who do it in ///M's and AMG's.....albeit with deeper pockets. It's no different than the young douches who drive around LA racing down residential streets in Ferrari's and Lambo's, only for us to pull them over, tow the car, and the person to claim dignitary protection....

.....and then be overnighted back to their home country to avoid prosecution.

My point, the behavior is an immature/young person's game.

You sir, get it. A person with some intuition. These renders are closer to what we will see. Even the test mules have a bar with camo across the section between upper and lower. Some of people's renders , including the OP, I am predicting will be embarrassingly off. These I believe are close to what we will see.

For heaven’s sake, on the test mule you can even near see the cues of what the car is going to look like under the right light, and it does not look like the terrible renders. Intuition, people.

That last render looks great. The hood lines (middle crease) is killer.

I'm hoping the hood line isn't there... Scott26 mentioned that the hood catch will sit between the grills so I'm hoping the hood comes all the way to the top of the grills.

New sighting apparently(?):
- the front looks less camoed, but the rear lights are more taped off so not sure.

That's one of the older mules that was still using a donated g20 front end

My prediction:

The red dots just show an "imaginary" shape, joining top to bottom, but that portion I predict will be painted body color.

I could see that but I still think any plate holder reinforcement will be behind the grill sort of "hidden".

If you look closely at those circular sensor-looking things between your red dots and the license plate, you can see what looks to be one of the horizontal grill slats passing over the upper portion of the sensor. So I still feel the grill will look like two big tall grills without a body color interruption.... but it's still too early to tell 100% obviously.

Fair point, one poster had posted an Audi that had a similar configuration to what you describe, bit of a hybrid between the two.

In my humble opinion, these days with a 3l FI engine in a 5 series size body the power dome does more harm than good...I’ll be more than ok without it.

Front and rear fender flares though, oh yeah please.

Agreed, I only want a power dome if it's function a la e9x m3 and/or it is cohesive with the design and doesn't look busy.

No worries if I don't like what I see I'll gladly take that CS off your hands if it's spec'd how I like it lol.

So I went back and watched the newest video at 0.25x speed and saw the reflection of the grill and horizontal bars through the camo in the first few seconds, see below:

Screenshot where grill outline and horizontal bar reflections are visible:

My bobo MS paint trace:

These behemoth grills are the real deal

Yep! There is a reason why SCOTT26 didn't debunk that last photoshop thread started by Jason......which he could've easily done. He merely added comments that seemed to suggest that we need to get ready to scratch our heads when the official unveiling takes place.
