Ugh! Those two BOLD line have me concerned... Can you elaborate on the "mistaken for M3", I understand it's not a replacement, but would you be content with that for DD?

fwiw, I have had three "real" M3's. 2008, 2016, 2017 competition package.

My M cars were all manual transmissions.

The M340 is smoother and more comfortable in every way. It sounds better. The car is VERY fast. Honestly, as fast as my 2017 M3.

The M car was better for that odd occasion that you want to drive like a hooligan. For the other 99% of the driving you will be doing.... BMW has hit an absolute home run with the M340i.

Well my m340i is at the dealer and I have a 2020 440i xdrive loaner, it reminds me how loud and behind previous platforms were. I liked my F30 6mos ago but I'm sure I couldn't now.

Quality lacks in the G20 for sure though.
