AWE touring resonated exhaust for a stock m340i (LCI)

Does anybody have this setup? How is the drone? Is it too loud? Do you wish you had the valves?

Overall, are you happy with this combination? I am seriously looking into this for my stock 2023 car (stock DP).

Reporting back:

I installed the AWE touring non-resonated exhaust onto my stock 2023 m340i (stock downpipe). First off, thank you all for the previous comments that helped me with my decision. Overall, so far, it is perfect:

1- Car sounds amazing now. Classy, loud under throttle, and no rasp or unpleasant sounds. Some minor burbles and very rare bangs (not too loud though). But very quiet if you dont stomp on the gas pedal. If I want to, I can cruise on the highway or in my neighborhood without turning heads. This is what I hoped it would be, and it turned out to be perfect for me.

2- Very tiny amount of drone at 65-75 mph and when under 20% throttle. Above or below these parameters, there is no drone. My kids were not bothered at all during our morning commute to school. Overall, drone with this setup is a non-issue.

3- Installation was fine (a BMW shop did it for me), but now after 1 day of driving the tips got loose a bit. There is no rattles what so ever, though. Nevertheless, I am buying car ramps because constant tightening of clamps may be needed for this system. I should be able to do it without issues.

4- Cold starts are VERY loud. This is one issue I am a bit worried. I am turning on the car in my garage, doors shut, and it helps. I love how it roars during cold start, but the neighbors may have a different opinion. So, depending on how things go, I am keeping my options (resonators) open.

5- Valves are overrated. I don't see a scenario where I would need them. They dont help with cold start anyways. In all other scenarios, I can choose how loud I will be by modulating the throttle.

Overall, I am quite happy and excited. Its amazing how good the car sounds now, both inside and outside.

Getting some rattles during cold start. Going back to shop to re-torque the clamps.

Question, did you have to take off the metal plate underneath? believe it is some supporting brace/plate. Apparently the shop that did my gf's install said due to the LCI's slightly changed area underside, the AWE exhaust was too thick and they needed to remove that metal plate underneath or else it would rattle.

No. I think that is some BS excuse for a bad install. I checked it and the brace is installed and there is plenty of clearance.

I actually found a loose bolt on the AWE logo - connector thingy and tightening it seems to solve the rattle. Will see if it comes back.

This is good to know. Thank you for letting me know about this! We will hopefully go back and have the shop revisit the work!

Had it on my 2020 M340i with Catless Downpipe and AWE touring resonated exhaust. It was the best sounding exhaust system I have heard to date. Sounded amazing. Did not miss the exhaust flaps one bit tbh.
