Has anyone here installed the Dinan exhaust on a 2021 M340i yet? I'm debating on purchasing, but would like to hear what a MY2021 sounds like with the exhaust installed before pulling the trigger.

We've all heard them on 2020's, but as most know, the 2021's have been neutered a bit in the exhaust department from the factory. So I'd like to see if the Dinan truly opens her up, or if it's marginally louder.

Any firsthand experience would be greatly appreciated. Videos would be even better!

Ha, I guess not. No luck on the various M340i-related Facebook groups, either. I even reached out to Dinan directly, but no videos specific to 2021 on their end, either.

If you have any luck with this please let us know! I am contemplating Dinan vs MPE for my 2021 m340i. Have not received the car yet (March delivery planned). Have not seen any videos around of the Dinan on a 2021 car. Have seen the limited ones with MPE but it just seems to amplify the sound and not change it in any way. I like the fact that the Dinan will have two valves to bypass the muffler.

I have a '21 as well and I'm waiting to see if anyone pulls the trigger on this and uploads a video. Test driving a '20 and expecting the same exhaust on the '21 and not getting it was a little bit of a buzzkill

You get it installed yet? Any videos?

Not that it helps me right now because I opted to get my E46 M3 a new toy (Karbonius Full Carbon CSL style intake) instead of an exhaust for the M340i. But maybe next bonus time!

Just ordered through my shop for my 2021. Hoping it got into the 3/25 production or it could be 4-6 weeks. I'll update as soon as I have status on shipment and install.

I ended up ordering one for my 21. It is backordered until the end of April. My guess is itll be installed sometime in May.

Next week it is supposed to get installed. All of the guys in the shop were busy getting all of our cars ready for Road Atlanta.

In theory it should be. Look at the two exhaust designs, the Dinan allows for most of the gases and noise to bypass the muffler entirely when the valves are open.

What are your thoughts on the MPE? I can't really tell the difference from the videos I see online.

That's what I said. The stock exhaust sounds great on the outside and is fairly loud. I can't tell the MPE difference. I need to hear in person

I agree with you that on the Dinan system with valves open all flow bypasses the muffler. I was wondering if it was the same with the MPE since cannot see the inside construction of the muffler and if the muffler is fully bypassed as well.

The MPE is definitely louder than stock. Hard to say by how much but it is significant in my opinion. I did not notice much change but I did manage to make it pop a bit with MPE while just revving it without driving on the road. I was not able to drive with the car, just start it and rev it a little bit.
