The M3 will use the new design format to be introduced with the next generation 4er. The front of the car is from the new 4er. And that includes the huge taller kidney grille. We will learn more about the M3 this Summer.

G8x grilles looked similar to iVision Dynamics concept.

So the M3 will share design with the new 4 series/M4 being different from the 3 series design? That's kinda strange. Why move the M3 to the 4/M4 design and differentiate it entirely from the brand new 3 series?

or did I read that wrong?

Both E90 and F80 followed the same logic.

I understand it as the front end, just like the e90 m3, shared the lights, hood, fenders from the coupe....could be wrong but that's what I get.

Yikes. So the least desirable style change to some recent bimmers is making its way to the next M3/4.

E90 and E92 M3 share the same front end design. F80 M3 and F82 M4 share the same front end design. Nothing new here.

But GAWD please please stay away from the unproportional large grills. If the next M3/4 have the X7 grill, I will have to keep my F82...

Yeah I guess I didn't realize the F80 did this as well since it does still look very similar to the F30. From the sound of it, the G80 is going to be a much larger departure from the G30 than the F series took. Guess we'll see

Of course it will. So it will be just as ugly as all of the other recently revealed cars: X5/7, 7 LCI. Disappointing to say the least.

That's not a kidney grille anymore. Looks more like butt cheeks.
