This new design language is going to end up saving me a lot of money. At this rate, I'll be keeping my 4GC 440i with MPPSK for many years to come

Agree with many of the members here

If the grill is anything like the proportions of the 7 or x7 I'd cancel my order

They've just about got away with it on the x5 but personally I think it's way too big

I can't believe how many commentators overlook the grill on x7 when it's most dominant feature of the car even from a mile away.

We all get that the grills of all car brands are synonymous with the automaker brand identity. But this is clearly starting to get out of hand, especially regarding the slow transition over to electric powered which at that point their is no actual need for a grill in the first place. It will be strictly for identifying the brand.

Function over form. BMW needs to get back to that design ethos.

I actually think it could look pretty good, though; if executed properly.

I'm not a fan of the G20's headlights and grill. The 4 series headlight shape already looks much improved without that goofy notch in it.

I actually really like the rear of the G20, so the G80 could end up looking pretty sweet IF (and a big if) they execute the tall grills properly. I could end up taking a hard look at a 6mt G80 Pure if they deliver on the looks and the Pure model comes to fruition as a normal production trim; not some halo, limited production run.

I'm sorry, but here Scott is absolutely on the wrong way!
The 3 Series and the 4 Series are visually separated from each other. In this respect, the 3 Series also retains the front and does not get it from the 4 Series!
The drawn kidney in the photo is similar to the X-series ...
... the 4 Series will be very similar to the 8 Series!

Perfect time to jump ship to Porsche? Let's see how many people vote with their wallet. Bmw couldn't give a rats ass about what you guys think, just look at their sales numbers.

Someone is buying.....

The problem with the self edited image on the first page is this: The kidneys clearly would be in the way of the number plate. The number plate on the front is now in the place of the kidneys, so I think the kidneys will be streched to the left and right instead of up or/and down. Otherwise they wouldn't be allowed to put the plate where it is on that mule. I really think the new 4 series will get some design cues from the 8.

Unless the entire area behind the kidney isn't for air intake... car still has to pass crash regulations so there will need to be a bumper behind it. Probably looking at the lower portion of the enlarged kidney being just a design element and bmw will just expect customers mount number plates right over the grill.

I agree with you, but is Audi's success related at all to the ugly grilles? I don't think so.

No, "bassmouth" meaning the new Audi grille looks like the mouth of a largemouth bass.

I sold my F82 last year and have been holding off on buying it's replacement. I need AWD drive now so initially the G80 seemed like a good option. But after seeing the G20 I've been eyeballing RS models. I'll wait and see what the G80 looks like without the camo and decide then.

I find it odd that he used the word "huge", unless he also doesn't like them.....which would be the first time I've personally seen a post from him that was negative towards BMW.
