For those interested - standard width boosters are annoying for kids to try to buckle the seatbelt. I got a narrow bottom seat Cosco brand that works great.

Got a link to the one you have? This has been a bit of a problem with one we have for my daughter. Took her a good week to get a good system down for getting the buckle in without help.

I have a G21 so not a M3 but the interior is the same size.
3 across was a bit of a squeeze and I could only fit the rear facing in the middle which was a pain to get a baby in and out of.

Ok so for anyone following or interested, I think this is literally the best booster seat for the G80:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I just got it. There are a few key things that I like about it.

1 - it has LATCH, so it doesn't slide around
2 - it has a flat bottom, without any nubbins that dig into the seat
3 - it is NARROW, and allows children easy access to the buckle when trying to plug in
4 - It does not dig up against the back portion of the seat
5 - if configured properly, the nubbins to adjust the height do not touch the rear seat back.

For anyone interested in a booster, feel free to reach out for direct pictures. I had gotten a backless cosco booster which was ok, but this really is an impressive fit for our vehicles.

I do have a rear facing angle adjuster through Diono as well, as the middle rear facing needed to sit up a little more. Once we are out of the infant stage we'll change to 3 Diono across which fits as well (sorry do not have a picture of that right now). Would have preferred to have the forward facing behind the driver but my son has to get out the passenger side for school drop off and pickup.

I am 5' 10" and move the seat up about 2 inches with the baby in the car to make it fit, still easily able to drive a manual. My wife is 5' 6" and has no problem with space on the passenger side. Happy to help if you have further questions.

I'm glad I read through this thread while I was passing time waiting for delivery of my M, which convinced me to buy a seat protector. Today, I found 2 day old milk under one of the car seats. It would have been pretty bad for the kyalami orange if I didn't have a seat protector under it.

I wish I had a fitted cover for the entire back seat, all the way out the door to catch all the inevitable child residue. This summer I hung up a blanket with zip ties to the headrests which did catch some of it but not perfect.

Ideally it would be like a bubble that seals around the children preventing them from licking windows, using smuggled-on board crayons and what have you.

When I travel I’m going to need to put a dog pet taxi in the rear, so I’d like something like this to protect as well. It is just plastic edges but some might scratch the seats.

I guess this is a different post, big a lot in common with the car seat thing. Your solution would fix both.

You can fit the car seats easily but depending on the age of ur kids and how tall they are, u may have to move the front seats up a bit. I have a 6 and an 8 yr old with forward facing and a booster seat. The 6 yr old is on the smaller side so his feet doesnt keep hitting the seat in front. As for my 8 yr old, his feet touches the seat in front and the way the seats are designed, there isnt much legroom in the back as the kids feet are pushed up rather than bent down like how normal people sit. So I would keep that in mind

There are no less than 25,000 calories worth of goldfish and assorted snacks secretly collected in my wife's caddy. We keep it clean and still, goldfish. That's 2 little boys worth; 4 and 2. We have another boy on the way. There is no way I am putting the stinkers in my car. lol Not willingly anyway.

Love to see some of you dad'ing so hard.

I feel that pictures are the best way to get a sense of whether car seats will work in the M3. The answer is unequivocally, yes, which I feel is one of the overlooked benefits of the vehicle.

With that said, car seats for a 4 and 7 year old, scuff / foot marks included. Reality is that the back will get dirty, short of covering the entire back area in some plastic slip on covering like your grandmas couch.

Pulling out doesn’t work, you have kids, you can also have an amazing car which you can use to move them around in comfort and style.

Which protectors are you guys using? I’ve read before that they aren’t recommended from a safety perspective but the rear seat was definitely damaged after 3 years in my M4. Looking to protect my KO seat in the M3. I have the radian 3.

Thanks in advance!

I don't see how they are unsafe. They do prevent scuffing but I will say that I still had permanent impressions from the seats anyway with the protectors because I tighten them was hard as I can. Seats don't move. My kids lives are worth more than my leather.

I have the M performance Alcantara backs too. I plan on having the car for a long time and i'll just buy a new set when my kids grow up.

Diono toddler seat with harness (my little guy likes to escape) with BMW seat back protector. PLUS I have a no shoe rule for the backseat until he’s older.
