As a side note a feel really lucky. My carbon black X3 M40i (which I absolutely love) is in service, waiting on parts...and I have a loaner car for at least a week, and it's almost literally identical to yours! Pretty ironic since I had been following the Portimao thread and now I "magically" have one in the garage.

The paint on these cars is gorgeous! Really sharp...to me it has some hints of purple in person, and wow it has so much life. You know you love cars when you want to detail your loaner car (which I did already clean up the interior since I'm going to have it for a while).

Enjoy it, can't wait to see what's next! 👍
Haha, thank you for the kind words!

Those X3 M40i's are a BLAST to drive...congrats!

Also, you're way more dedicated than I am. I don't think I ever see myself detailing a loaner car.

I've got some things in store...nothing major, though. Take care!

Thanks, man! I've always liked keeping my cars clean, but I've really gotten more into it over the past few years. I'd like to start doing it on the side as my boys get a little older and allow my wife and I a bit more free time.

Thank you! That's precisely why I went with the red calipers over the blue. Needed some contrast and I couldn't be more happy with how they complement each other.

Beautiful car. Mine will also be PB, but with Black Vernasca/blue stitching, 791M wheels with blue calipers. Sort of a black and blue theme. Maybe I should call it the bruise?
I see you are a Matt Moreman disciple. I started to suspect that when you mentioned "dialing in"; then the Swisstrax flooring and finally the OG t-shirt.
I'll be doing the same prep work to mine and hope I can get away with just a Perfect Finish polish prior to coating. As of now, I plan on using CSL with ExoV4 on the paint, trim, lights and wheels.
Stay safe and enjoy the ride!

Thank you! And yes, or at least "Bruiser"!

I am for sure an OG/Matt Moreman disciple. But I'm actually not the one in the OG T-shirt...that's my buddy. I surprisingly don't own any OG t-shirts...just a few zip up hoodies from them.

If I was ready to try coatings, that would be my plan of attack, too. Great call!

Thanks, again and can't wait to see yours once it arrives!

Got the car setup last week for dad duties:

Running errands in this is much more thrilling than it was in the Accord:

Think I may try and install the new Armaspeed intake this weekend. The box is just sitting in my garage, begging to go in.

Thanks!

As for the flooring, I love it. Totally transformed my garage. You do need to be careful with the type of jacks/jackstands you use. I'll be buying some "flat-bottomed" jack stands (similar to these) in the near future to help with this.

But I can't recommend them enough. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss them any further. Side note, I am an affiliate for Obsessed Garage (link in my signature) and they are running a 10% off Black Friday sale (12:01 AM ET on 11/27 through 11:59 PM ET on 11/30). Just food for thought.

Love your car. I have been contemplating my G20 M340i order for a few weeks now. A couple of questions:

1) Are you happy with the shadowline/PB/Cognac/Grey wheels/red brakes combo?

2) I see you are in MA. I am in PA and also thinking of going with RWD. Like you I have a weekend M3 in the garage (E92) but I was wondering if xDrive might better differentiate the cars. Are you happy with the RWD?

Hey, thank you!

1) Extremely!

2) I'm loving the RWD (I'm a bit of a purist, so I prefer RWD over AWD/xDrive). Get the RWD and then get yourself a set of dedicated wheels w/ winter/snow tires. I had winter tires on my RWD E90 335i and I cannot say enough about the DRAMATIC difference that they make. You honestly will have no need for the xDrive if you do that.

Cheers!

Thank you! I was planning to get snow tires with either RWD or xDrive so might as well save the $2k!

Glad I could help and congrats on the car!

I ordered my car with the 19" wheels, but picked up a set of 18" Blizzak winter tires. So need to either find a decent set of used 5x112 wheels (god I wish BMW hadn't changed the lug pattern for the G20), or buy a cheaper set new from Tire Rack or similar.

I'll wait until it actually snows, though. Ha. Can always drive my wife's Grand Cherokee until then!

For anyone who didn't see my dedicated intake thread, I recently installed my ARMA Speed carbon fiber intake kit.

Car still isn't broken in yet (just about to hit 500 miles), so I'm still taking it relatively easy. But I did manage to capture this quick clip yesterday. You can absolutely hear the turbo spooling up much better than before, and the induction noise is much improved. Can't wait until I can really push her to see how it sounds then. Here's that clip:

Now that my car is finally past the 600 mile break-in period, I got a better video clip of the Armaspeed intake. You can really hear the turbo spool up with this one. This thing puts a smile on my face every time I drive it!
