TPMS Accuracy
For those of you with TPMS, have you noticed that the tyre pressure readings in the car do not seem to be quite accurate or equal even immediately after checking the tyre pressures at a service station.
For example, I checked my tyre pressures at two different BP service stations and put 39 psi in all four tyres, once with warm tyres and once with cold tyres (as cold as I could get after 1 km drive). When I checked the on-car TPMS today each tyre had a different pressure and temperature, ranging from 36 to 39 psi, temps varying as well. After the first tyre check, I checked the tyre pressures and temps while on a 100 km drive. Three tyres were showing equal pressures and one was down by 1 psi. Every time, over a period of a few months, I have asked Hey BMW to check the tyre pressures. The reply has always been that the tyre pressures are OK. My questions are: 1. Have other people noticed this phenomenon? 2. How accurate are the TPMS sensors supposed to be? 3. Could I have a slightly duff sensor in my right front?
