Mines in the battery recall and they do a video health check.

I've done 3300 miles and all 4 tyres are at 5mm. Was surprised that all 4 were the same as would expect rears to be lower. I'm on the Pirelli P7s.

Thats bad right? Approx 1mm wear per 1000 miles means you'll be lucky to get anywhere near 6-7k miles before needing to be replaced! Replacements every six months.

And not even the dreaded Bridgestones.

Is that on the health check? I'd be physically measuring the actual tread depth. I've never known a RWD BMW wear the same rate, front and rear.

Many RWD users will get at least 50% more mileage from front tyres, compared to the rear. 3 - 4,000 miles per mm of wear is what I'd be expecting, for average driving, even on a UHP run-flat.

My 330e is on 2,770 and it was in for a software update yesterday. The health check showed 6mm across all 4 tyres.

So thats similar wear? (assuming a 8mm tread when new).
Approx 1mm per 1000 miles. Not great.

Im expecting approx 12k miles a year, so thats a new set every 6 months for me, if replaced around the 2mm mark.

So actually from what you guys have said the Bridgestones don't seem THAT bad. I've done 11,000 miles and my fronts are still on 6mm and rears down to 3.
So even on the worse rears that still over 2000 miles per 1mm.
Fronts at this rate would last over 20k.

Out of interest, what's the tread wear rating on the tyres, current fitted to the 330e?

I'm running Conti's on my 535i, with a tread wear rating of 280 and 'surprising' they have covered over 20,000 miles (with rotating) and still at ~4mm. I'd imagine from previous experience, that would be something like 15,000 rear and 25,000 front, without rotating.

I wouldn't say that. At 11 for me it was rears needing legally replaced and the fronts just over 4mm

Maybe because mine was mostly motorway driving and/or because I've not often driven it hard....but even then it seems you're doing better than Jim (above) was getting out of the Pirelli's.
Also there could be differences in the wear rate on a 330e due to the weight of the batteries at the rear.

Pretty sure that would be a factor, but seems even those with non-330e's are seeing pretty poor wear rate.
I would expect more than 11k miles on a set if mostly motorway miles.

Its a concern that every six months I'll be having to shell out upwards of £350 for a new set of rears.

To be fair, my mileage has all been short runs around town. And the odd occasional spirited drive but not going crazy.

I have managed to get through a set in 4000 miles. I have however done a fair bit of spirited driving, but I must say that's quick even by my standards

Sport traction enabled does make the car quite fun

Think if it was just one brand that had the issue, then no problems, get them replaced with something more fit for purpose when required.
But if this is going to be the case throughout the life of the car, then thats a different issue.
Any money saved by going electric when possible is wiped out by tyres. Mental.

Mine is the G21 M sport pro & it came on eagle F1's all round.

Has anyone elses come with Eagle's? I took delivery 30th November.

Sounds like an inherit "problem" with the car.

Unfortunately for me as a private buyer (with no lease company to pay for the tyres) thats pretty concerning.

I also will pay for my own tyres and I've had a few BMW and never experienced tyre wear of that nature. The E92 was the worst example as BMW decided it needed a lot of camber on the rear resulting in the inside edge of the tyre being shot whilst the rest was fine. I had that adjusted and got 15,000 out of the next rear set. 4,000 miles is crazy and if that happened on the public road then it's either a very out-of-align toe angle or driving like a nob. Assuming you don't drive like a nob I'd be getting the toe angle checked, JM13RS.

Had Eagle F1s on my F10 and now G30, best of the bunch for grip, silence and longevity

Pirelli and Michelin were poor life wise..., don't recall Bridgestone results... but I hope I get Eagle F1s on my 330e in a couple of weeks

You'd better hope not if JM13RS only got 4000 miles from the rear set.

Seems like as a group we need to sort this out for the benefit of our pockets.

So far the Bridgestone T005's seem great on the Fronts but poor on the Rears. Pirelli's sound worse. Michelin unsure.

Perhaps for the Rear set (assuming mixing front-rear isn't bad) we go for something completely different. (Yokohama's, Toyo's, Hankook's ???) Not sure what's available.

I used to have a 200sx and the tyres on that lasted for ages but I can't remember what I had on sadly.

Dont think you can mix front to rears as think they are different sizes.

Would be good to know who has acceptable/expected life expectancy, what model of 3 they have, and what brand of tyres they have.

Only 4,000 miles on the rear, that is crazy. Something is wrong with the car, or driven really hard.

Still interested in knowing what tread wear ratings these OE tyres have.

If it had just been one brand with rapid wear, it could be a batch issue, but as it appears several OE brands are being reported, I'd be looking at the geometry. As has already been suggested, toe is likely involved, if it is a calibration issue.

The only BMW I've ever known to eat tyres like that, was running far too much rear toe.
