Man..you design critics are tough on new design release. As I think back over my years with cars I'm almost always apprehensive and down on new model updates . Never seems to look quite as good as the last gen regardless of brand. But then I always seem to warm up to it

The ONE exception I can think of was when they radically changed the "new edge" 5th gen 99 thru 2004 Mustang to whatever they called it in 2005. I was into Mustangs (still am) and that damn thing was big, bulky and ugly IMO. Latest ones look awesome though. Sorry got off topic there....

Shame it's not in x drive form yet. I think they should consider what they have done with the M5 where you can turn the 4 wheel drive on and off. I would get it if was X drive though.

Is there any reason to have the grill filled? I'm wondering if there would be scope for an aftermarket version with gaps like the f30 version

Plastic for the win

I hate all the excess of cheap/glossy plastic. Look at that front grille. It looks like it's off an electric car.

It's very "meh" in general terms. It's not bad, but it's not great.

I'm struggling to like the car as a whole, but what really does bring it down is those dreadful decals! Awful and very cheap looking!

Kinda cool. Kinda not

Really hating the door handles with the large deep oval thingy behind it. It's so visible. Takes away from the design.

I'm assuming it's to lower the drag coefficient. I agree an aftermarket grille with the gaps cut out would look better, but would definitely make the very front of the car a bit less aerodynamic.

Gives us a good glimpse of the M3. I think I'm growing up too fast for the M3. Still in my mind though.

I owned a F30 335i & currently own a F80 M3. I would gladly take this G20 over my F30 any day. Definitely not my F80 but it gives hope that the G80 will look great.

I owned an F30 328i and agree with you. I enjoyed it but I'd never call it some sort of design masterpiece.

The E90 and F30 for me anyway are probably the worst looking 3 series cars of all time other than the M versions. The G20 at least has some character, the e90/f30 felt like overreactions to bangle on the boring side.

LMAO I concur. I don’t know how many of you have seen the G20 in person - “but that grill bro” . Interior worthy, rear end, I can tolerate it as well. That damn decal is getting out of hand
