Hello. Just picked up a 3series with every package in it, except hk sound but don't get me started on that or why the guy before me ordered it that way… lol.
But I put my radar detector in the windshield and it would not stop going off for laser and x band. I only brought up the packages because I'm not sure if that is playing a role with all the stuff in the car. Never had an issue with this radar detector. Of course I unplugged it and for the first time in 10 years since getting it I got pulled over for a pretty hefty ticket. So I wanted to ask, has anyone else had issues with radar detectors? Either with or without the driver asst pro and exec packages? I plugged it into my RR and drove in the same spots and didn't go off once. Also for those who do have one with no issues which ones do you have or do you have any recommendations? Mine is a 9500ix escort |

I had all kinds of issues with a Valentine One, generation 1. I upgraded to the V1G2 version and it fixed it. It was triggered by the gesture control sensor in the overhead panel. I think it is a glossy black looking thing pointed towards the windshield. Turning off gesture control does nothing. If you can remove rear facing laser detection from your Escort (via an app) you can try that. You can also put some electrical tape or similar over the sensor in the overhead panel. That will also stop gesture control. The angle of the gesture control sensor must blast it straight into the radar detector. Not sure if Escort has over the air firmware updates that might also help?

My 9500ix started going bonkers when more and more radar was added to cars parking and driving sensors.
I switched to the 360max when I picked up my G20. No problems now.

No issues with the radar sensor nor gesture control with the Uniden R7 and R8. I've mine mounted with a BlendMount, if detector mounting makes a difference.

I have gesture controls (executive package) and a blend mount & mirror tap with my Escort Max 360. I also have DAP & 360 cameras. No problems
