No more slits in the headlights? Its like they take away something every year making the 2020's more special.

Exactly this. The departure from the iconic "eyes" to this now Audi-Kia-Honda-esque BS is BS.

I'm so tired of manufacturers playing off of each other just because of sales and profit margins now. Make cars that you're passionate about that should be the end of it. Brands are supposed to be unique.

If anything, that means it won't have the beaver teeth grills, the ACC sensor would be off-center if it had.

To add to that, all these design changes were supposed to reintroduce BMW to a newer era and ditch the "old" BMW styling, but now there is very little resemblance to anything BMW and these changes can be seen as taken ideas from Audi, Mercedes and Lexus. BMW's are slowly becoming less unique in their own way and blending in with everything else.

The current Laser Light DRLs on the G20s is a "okay" change in styling to get BMW into a new era. I likened the current DRLs as "bougie Kia" as the Stinger has something super similar. The non Laser Light DRLs must've been tacked on by the same team that made the current 4 in that a total "fuck it" stance was taken and whichever idea landed the most darts on the dartboard was put into production.

Respectfully disagree. I think the G20 is an incredibly handsome and modern design. I find it hard to believe it is nearly halfway through it's life cycle. It just hit dealers like two years ago.

That actually signifies upgraded headlights and laser headlights. Not ones for EV.
What would blue trim inside the grilles have to do with laser lights? If that's the case, it makes even less sense. The point is that it carries over from the blue highlights on the i4, which is plastered with it.
Here you go bro, the new G8x with laser lights ☺️

Why couldn't the g8x look like this? Saw the g82 in person today and it's still not growing on me. Hopefully they reconsider the design for this…

Remember that the G20 style was introduced in MY2019, there was just no M340i until MY2020. So MY2023 is 4 years after the style debuted

An LCI in 2022 makes sense considering BMW's product lifespan, but in my opinion 2020 had such an impact it is somehow perceived as a leap year for customers (at least in Europe I'd say), and with deliveries taking approximately 16 weeks vs the 8-9 weeks they were taking before the pandemic, it feels like we are only starting to see a good amount of pre-LCI G20s now and they're already about to change.

I understand an LCI when new tech is added or quality upgrades are introduced, but merely modifying the looks for the sake of it or forcing the arguably better ID8, doesn't make too much sense to me and isn't really fair towards customers who have just bought a newer G22/G23/G26 or an LCI G30.

Moreover, does new tech now trickle up the chain instead of down?

I think you misread my post. I'm not referring to the headlights. I'm referring to the blue paint *inside the grilles*, similar to the i4

If I'm not mistaken Bmw hired a designer that came from Volkswagen hence why the headlight design is moving further away from the halos. I do love the laser lights in my m340 but the more they move away from the bmw signature designs. Which is a little strange usually brands with iconic recognizable designs don't change there design much like Lamborghini Ferrari Porsche. Looks like soon you won't be able distinguish a bmw on the road anymore

BMW makes every 4 years face lift so that mean beginning of year 2023 and new model every 7 years so beginning of 2026.

I am talking about when sales start not when is presented.

They will present LCI end of 2022.
