Just got my black G22 a little bit more than a month ago and already bought the following:
1. Dinan Axleback exhaust - black tips 2. AC Schnitzer springs 3. Front black grille replacement with horizontal pattern (in lieu of the chrome honeycomb) 4. Black emblem replacement in lieu chrome 5. A bunch of detailing products Now looking for rims: possibly BBS, SAvini or Curva Concepts and a bank to fund this addiction. |

New Items
I recently purchased a used MPE that I am going to pick up in HTX this weekend. In addition to installing the exhaust next week, I will be adding the following items that I just bought from Infinite Autowerks.

Yesterday I got some window tinting. Stek Nex graphene 15 on the back and 85 (maximum legal in my country) on the front. Pretty happy with the result.

Purchased a Stitching Cover “Alcantara” wrap…. I’m a bit skeptical. I guess I’ll see what happens.

The rear spoiler gives the car a little bit more stability when driving faster. The front spoiler officially doesn´t fit the G21 because the stability in some tests weren´t that good. I can´t confirm that and until now the car is driving really nice even around 290 kph.

While not a G20, I am the proud new owner of a 2024 G26 and these are the minor mods and purchases I’ve made here in the first few days of ownership. First would be my favorites, Painted Reflectors from IND and M-Sport fender badges from ECS Tuning. The reflectors really clean up the front fender and the badges are a nice touch restoring the car to Euro spec. Next I was having the CarPlay GPS “drift” issue despite having a car that just came off the production line running the 03/2023.58 iDrive 8 firmware. So I got my service department to update me to the brand new 07/2023.35 version and so far so good. Fingers crossed it works. Note that those with iDrive 8 will get a new Gauge Display that has different fonts and spacing on many elements. The font is that M4 look, very space-age, very modern. And now the fonts don’t match the fonts on the Control Display which isn’t great. Next is a small thing but really useful, a short 4” USB-C to Lightning cable so that on long trips when wireless charging would overheat I have a solution for the armrest that doesn’t get a lot of long wire in the way. This one is a real favorite, it’s an EZ-Pass concealer, a silicone wrap for the transponder (hides the white color in the interior) and a plastic suction mount (hides the white color on the exterior). Kind of hard to see in the exterior photo….and that’s the entire point! The next area of importance for me is cargo organization, it’s one of the main reasons I left my Convertible and got back into a Gran Coupe. It’s a great space, so many use cases, but I needed a way to hold those horrible Tyvek reusable shopping bags that are mandated by my state and these Velcro trunk organizing ‘walls’ are just perfect. Extends the usefulness of the two wheel well cubbies by allowing you to put larger/taller things in there. Along these same lines, these flat bungee cords are the perfect length to stretch between the two cargo rings and create enough tension to hold things that might otherwise fly around the hatch. My old X5 had something similar to hold my son’s sport water bottle and I really missed them. They stay out of the way but are there when you need them. That’s it! Been a busy week. Thanks to all who contributed here and provided inspiration. |

WOW! That elastic rope is a great idea! Thank you toddwalton! I was cursing BMW accountants for removing the second net and the wide, flat elastic cord found in the pre LCI G21! Now at least will have something mimicking that functionality!
BTW - how you managed to fix the velcro of the separators to trunk felt material? I bought similar from AliExpress and their velcro just don't stick to the felt lining of my G21 trunk. |

You are going to love this. It’s a product by Velcro called Velcro Sticky Back For Fabrics and it allows you to Velcro anything to a modern BMW trunk which is coated in that fabric stuff that isn’t Velcro-friendly. Trial and error this week by myself personally, this stuff is the answer we’ve all been looking for. It has a stickum that is specifically designed for a permanent bond to fabrics. It’s awesome. This is the Flat Bungee Cord that I purchased. Measure the distance between the rings and pick a length that is a bit shorter than that distance. Gives it room to stretch properly without being too taut. The key is to get a ‘flat’ bungee instead of the ones that are thin and round. Hope this helps! |

toddwalton - appreciated! Found the Velcro on Amazon.de! The flat elastic cords are super cheap at AliExpress - already ordered a bunch of them, let's see what fits!

@zlatko You may also want to look on Amazon for these, they are that really thick elastic as found on our prior gen BMW’s that the accountants removed. |

That is actually what I am looking for! - what is the name/brand of product? Or it is just wide, flat elastic band one fixes with velcro?
