My first BMW... ordered a m340i

Hello everyone,

Just joined this site and have learned a lot already. It's funny because I never really thought I would have bought a BMW. I really had my heart set on a Cadillac CT 5 V and I always wanted a Cadillac. This was a huge purchase for me so I wanted to make sure I was making the right decision. I also considered the new Acura TLX S type. I figured it was worth checking out..On Fathers Day I went and looked at the new Acura and crossed that off the list immediately as the dealership had a $5,000 addendum which pushed the price up to 60k. I then stopped by the BMW dealership and test drove the m340i and that was it for me! I really liked the CT5 V but this car was in a different league. It didn't hurt that my wife absolutely loved this car too! The car didn't have exactly what I wanted so I was fortunate to order a new 22. Here's what I ordered:

Mineral grey metallic
Black vernasca w/ blue contrast stitching

Very nice! How was the negotiation process? I’m looking to order next year and am hoping the market moves in favor of buyers.

Awesome!! What color did you get? I really want to do the delivery experience so I'm hoping it's ready in October. Anytime after that will be difficult for me to get off work becaise of the holidays.

To be honest I'm probably not going to get much off sticker besides the incentives. I could have gotten 1 from another dealer but it didn't have all the options I wanted. The dealer I ordered from is well aware that I passed on thar car and went through them and they promised to work with me so we'll see. I'm not sure with the way things are going if sticker price now isn't such a bad deal. Inflation is coming.

Thats weird, most of the dealerships around me negotiated price before placing the order. And then when the car got here, they would give us the incentives of the month on top of the % off we got we negotiated before placing the order.

I'm not certain that I'll end up getting much off of MSRP. It's definitely a sellers market right now. Another thing to consider is prices are up for raw materials and with inflation paying MSRP might not be such a bad thing.

Ordered yesterday, 8/9. Build week 35. First week in September.
Dravit Grey Germany built. Now the wait. Was told 8 weeks to the dealership.
I'm not holding my breath....

Congrats!! It's so exciting. I also considered the Dravitt grey but spent the extra money in laser lights instead.

Just found out that my production got moved up a week so today i got the vin and production begins. Yeah!!!

I got my vin yesterday.. I was originally week 33 but got pushed to 34.....

I just purchased a 2021 with the same specs however the wheels aren’t black on mine. I was going to order a 2022 since my dealer was offering me 8% off MSRP however I couldn’t wait for that to come in. Carvana was offering me a crazy price on my 2018 340I and didn’t want to miss out. Enjoy the car when it comes in.

Great! That's a nice surprise. Usually, timing moves in the other direction.

Thanks... Mineral with black interior is classic.

Since I'm in the city, I didn't consider the laser lights.

I also prefer the DLR's in the regular lights.
I'm in the minority there

Congratulations! Is that 8% off the 2021? Solid deal.

How was the experience of selling to Carvana? Easy, or a pain in the butt?

Need to sell my S4, in the next month or so, and they were offering the best price out of all the other online buyers.

I worked with a lease broker and was able to secure 8% off MSRP + any discounts (if there are any...).

Ugh, that's painful. Excellent deal, though.

My SA was confident that there will be some incentives come October.

I sure hope so. I don't see any current incentives listed for the 22 on BMW Web site yet other than military and loyalty which neither do I qualify for. October is when it should be ready so hopefully they'll have something decent.

do you mind sharing the brokers information? every broker ive contacted has been in the 5-6% range 8% is a great discount in the current market
