Individual M340i Touring - Nardo Grey
First time BMW owner and first time poster.
I've been wanting an M340i Touring since it came out and I finally had everything lined up to purchase one. I test drove a used example and it blew me away. Tony Lewis is not quoting them at the moment due to the imminent refresh and lead times. Therefore I had all the alerts on various websites and one came up in stock, fully loaded, that I had to buy. The Spec: - Individual Nardo Grey paintwork - Fiona Red / Black Merino Leather - Shadowline Plus Pack - Comfort Plus Pack - Tech Plus Pack - Visibility Pack - Pan Roof - Red Calipers - Oak Grain trim It's really special. The dealer clawed my eyes out on price - I was their first call, and they had 7 more within a couple of hours. What I'm really paying for, given this market, is time with the car versus waiting until the end of the year / early 2023 for the new model. They also gave me more money than I thought I would get for my old car. The reason this became available is simply an order cancellation that the dealer forgot to action with the factory. So the car arrived and they had no one lined up to buy it. A simple admin error I took advantage on. I've seen a few examples of this on the M340i over the past couple of weeks. I had a Mazda 6 Touring for 8 years - so this is very different. I did have an RX-8 before that, and even though that was a great handling car, it was really underpowered. I've never driven a really fast car before so test driving the used example was an eye opener. I can't imagine what full-fat M cars are like - probably just scary. A word on the deletions that are happening at the moment. Mine came without wireless charging and lumbar support in the passenger seat. What they don't tell you, however, is that removing the wireless charging removes the wireless capability altogether - so no Apple CarPlay / Android Auto. Not a biggie for me since the BMW system has everything I need and you still have BlueTooth. I think this will be the case for all cars rolling off the line at the moment. Either that, or the original spec had the zero-cost wireless capability option mistakenly taken off! In any case, a bit weird they don't support wired CarPlay / Auto. Looking forward to opening the car up once the run-in is done! |

Are you sure about the CarPlay thing?
I don’t have wireless charging in mine, but I do have Apple CarPlay, works perfectly on a wireless basis |

I did take a quick look at the config. Lovely car but a bonkers amount of money.

Also, just check you don't need a services update. Go to the apps section, and in the "right click" menu there's update apps and services. Once you do that you might find that it appears |

CarPlay should be activated at a later date for you following a software update. Wireless CarPlay uses WiFi and is independent of the wireless charger.
Awesome spec btw that is a beautiful machine! |

- Ability to pair 2 smartphones - Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, - RSU updates (via phone). - WiFiHotspot (where option 6NW/6WD specified) This should be rectified in April - June timeframe. Most cars coming out of production line now will have 6P1 applied. I'm not holding my breath - software always takes longer than anticipated and they may not even find a solution with the hardware they do have. It's annoying that 6P1 wasn't on the order form. |

Not sure if it's the same car but a bloke posted in the Off Topic section of the F30 sub-forum saying he'd been offered a cancelled order Nardo Grey M340i Touring for £64k - list price was apparently £68k. Have to say anything starting with a 6 for an M340i sounds seriously silly money to me but I suppose that's the way the market is at the moment!

Great looking car there and what a spec!
Shame that some stuff is ‘temporarily’ deleted, I’m at a loss to understand it all. I also had a RX8, took it all over Europe Anyway enjoy your new ride, and remember, ‘there’s no pockets in a shroud’ |

Went to Le Mans in it with the club in 2008, petrol was @ £1.47ish a litre biggest trip was Santander - A Coruna - Pamplona - Millau - Gap - Chamonix Mont Blanc (about 10hours doing various passes on the way ) - Cologne via Montreux then finally to the ferry at Ijmuiden. @5k miles all in and a lot of fuel and fun Anyway sorry for the moment, I’d love to do it all again in a. M340 G21 (on the lookout to upgrade from my 320 G21) Enjoy the car, get over to Europe and have fun Again sorry for the thread jack, here’s the car, still stickered up from Le Mans in 2009 Last edited by HeebieJeebies; 02-02-2022 at 07:05 PM..
