It just came out really. Give it some time...although sedan sightings are getting more and more rare these days, especially niche models like this.

I saw one in my complex last month for two weekends straight, looks like a visitor. I drive mine daily and have not come across another on the street yet. I have come across a few 330i's though, mostly non M - Sport models.

I think it's a good thing that they aren't "everywhere" quite yet. From what I recall, BMW is selling a lot of them and they are doing well. But to your point, I've only seen 2-3 M340I's out in the wild and they were all parked. I have however, seen a few 330I's rolling around.

The higher line model/M340i is generally outsold by the lower line model/330i by roughly 3:1. I wouldn’t be surprised if that spread increases now that the M340i has moved up the price point and performance point with no lower level “plain” 340i.

This isn't exclusive to the M340i... You also won't see many C43's or S4's either in comparison to the C300/A4 respectively. The M340 just happens to be less than a year old as well.
I kind of like not seeing too many of them, adds a bit to the exclusivity of it.

I've seen one, though when I got my 340 it took awhile before I saw another, it seems way more folks buy the 330. Even now the 340's are somewhat rare and I haven't found one with exactly my rims or M performance parts.

I saw two M340i’s a few days before we took delivery of ours. I took it as a sign. F30 340i’s, not so much. I only saw one other than ours once in a while. Apparently they are rare in the Phoenix metro. Our genius and CA commented how rare they were around these parts when we traded her in. Especially in M Sport trim.
The G20 is starting to show up around here. Still, I don’t expect to see many as the sedanapocalypse continues to go full boar. |

Actually in NYC it’s been pretty common for me to see a M340i every other day, though I do drive around a lot. I’ve seen more M340is than 330is surprisingly.
Though in NYC you would see at least a M3 everyday. |

Live in SoCal and never seen an M340i. Seen very few 330i as well, Probly around 5-6, all non M-sport except one.
The G20 is a rare sighting here still. Guess it's still new. |

As time goes by I'm seeing more people getting the new 3 series but I've only seen like 3 or so M340i's. Going from what you said about the Model 3 the same applies. I always see the standard Model 3 all the time but I rarely see the Performance trim.
