Yes, as noted in the video it uses current information to adapt/adjust and it doesn't learn or use past information. I guess if you consider the recent past of the current trip then it is learning/using that.

Now we are having, at least in part, the predictive adaptations, going beyond transmission management. |

As mentioned, it is reacting or adapting (see what they did there?) to how you are currently driving. I used trip meaning your current behavior as well of course navigation inputs if you are using that.

I decided to play around with "Sport Individual" after work, and I found a nice balance.
Steering: Comfort Engine: Sport+ Transmission: Sport With these settings, it makes the car feel incredibly light and nimble, and it also gives the engine some power without making it peaky or overeager. The bonus on top of all this is that the Transmission is very smooth without feeling too lethargic. The only negative is that the exhaust baffles are open, so you constantly hear the exhaust in this mode. I was looking for that "special" feeling on my M340i, and with these settings, I think I've found it. |

Eco Pro and Sport Plus.
I prefer the steering in sport. I am probably an outlier because of the steering. However, I am okay with the steering in comfort of when driving down the interstate. It would be nice if we could program sport steering with Adaptive mode.

I was appalled with my loaner G20 330i steering. Felt like a Toyota..... Terrible! I don't enjoy steering with my pinky. Cheers!

I had a revelation thanks to a recent loaner experience.
I was driving Sports Individual every single time in maximum attack mode: Steering: Sport Engine: Sport Plus Transmission: Sport Plus Suspension: Passive To me, it was odd that I would even have a choice to drive in any mode other than sport. If I wanted a more comfortable car, I'd have had... a more comfortable car! Old E-series BMWs pulled off the Jekyll and Hyde really well without "modes"! I tested early on and found that ECO PRO and Comfort and Sport/Sport Plus all give the same MPG at the same speed on the highway. Therefore, when I need fuel economy on a trip, I just upshift manually to 8th and cruise. I had an X2 28i loaner and to my great surprise, it seemed to have steering feel, more so than my car! That car's steering seemed to permanently be mired in Comfort, so I gave Comfort a shot on my car. So far I'm very impressed! It seems to have given a bit more feel and by making it just a bit lighter it's made the car feel more agile. The most interesting effect has also been to teach me that the M340i had plenty of feel in the chassis that you can feel through the seat. I knew this, but it became really obvious in the base X2, which had no chassis feel to speak of. So now I am running: Steering: Comfort Engine: Sport Plus Transmission: Sport Plus Suspension: Passive Once I get my summer tires back on, I'll start playing with true Sports Plus!

I hit the eco button as soon as I’m in speed limits under 45 in a city or stoplights environment. So I’m in comfort 75% of the time and eco the balance.
Sport is fun and that little turbo isn’t embarrassing by any means but I love the handling and feel of the car and then the looks and that’s why I bought it. So I enjoy fun rides if I have to drive and Sport is a hoot and really transforms the car no doubt. But I put it on for a little bit getting up to speed and feeling the change, but don’t stay in it for a long drive. But if I want to go out and really get after it and have my butt pushed back in the seat...I take out my 600 hp (511rwhp) C6 Z51 M6 Super Charged modified Vette. This is my work car and I’m loving it after a month and amazed at the 40.4 mpg on my last TANK, about 2/3’s was highway...sick! |

While on the topic of Drive Mode, don't forget to try out the SPRINT Mode!! It's a blast to use for momentary burst, by holding in your left side paddle shifter in for a couple sec and then "SPRINT" shows up on your display, hit the accelerator and the car "launches off"! Tried it on one of my test drives.
My m440i is still awaiting to go into production. Delayed till Mid May now, ordered early Feb. Its been agonizing following this forum daily and not having your own to enjoy yet, believe me guys.

All of that being said, the M340i is still a ton of fun in the corners; the steering response is amazing, and while the direct feel of hydraulic racks isn't there, it's still very easy to place and control the front wheels. And of course... the M340i is stupid fast. That doesn't hurt either. |

The majority of my driving is downhill, so Eco Pro makes the most sense for me. Eco Pro with the gear selector slapped into sport, however, is a hilarious combo. The car behaves as usual in Eco but when I need to accelerate, there's none of the delay that comes with Eco Pro. One quick tap of the gas pedal and I get back up to speed and can coast again. Might be a little counterproductive but it's worth a try for a good laugh.
