I back tracked a little, your final assembly was on the 17th of feb and now the port arrival is on the 17th of March. That's good to know. Mine just entered final assembly stage and I'm looking at another month atleast before I receive my car then. The wait is irritating to say the least.

My car arrived at the port on 2/25 and it's been sitting there since. I called the BMW Genius line and they said to call back tomorrow for an update because it is stuck at the VPC.

Sounds like we are in the same situation. My car arrived on the same day on the Capricornus Leader. I have no idea what is going on or when it will actually leave. My CA said it should leave on the 13th.

Was anything said about a recall or software update? There is a recall coming - 21V096000 - for something about the rearview camera image. The recall for vehicles on the road won't start until April but maybe they have to fix ones that left the factory with old code?

That would be a valid reason had it been conveyed. But no, nothing was mentioned of a recall.

I got the same update saying it would arrive at the dealer on the 13th, but it may take 1-2 days for inspection. I'm so impatient lol

Arriving on the 13 would be even better if that was the case as well for me. Did you by chance add the MPE as a port install? bap340i mentioned that there is a shortage on the MPE which, for me would make sense seeing as my work order to install has yet to be completed.

Wanted to get some opinions on my order.

I placed my order on 2/20/2021. I didn't enter "scheduled for production" status until 3/5/2021. BMW Genius has told me I am scheduled to complete production week 15 (week of 4/12/2021). I've seen multiple people that ordered around the same date as me whose cars have already completed production.

The individual I spoke with couldn't confirm, but thought my car was being assembled at the Mexico factory. I suppose this would explain the delay in production if my car is indeed being built in Mexico, while others in this thread have already been built in Germany. Just want to make sure I'm not thinking wishfully here.

Secondly, does anyone have knowledge of transport times from the Mexico factory to USA dealerships?

It's the luck of the draw when it comes down to production week assigned. I lucked out and mine began production a few days after I placed the order.

High likelihood both of yours will be at the Mexico plant but who knows. If VIN starts with 3MW that'll be your signal.

My car was on a ship that left Mexico on 2/22, stopped at Fort Lauderdale and then dropped my car off at the Brunswick, GA port on 3/2 (for Performance Center Delivery). My car is still at the VDC in Brunswick and the dealer thought it should be done in the next day or two. Normally it will then be in transit to your dealer (transit time will vary on how far it is to the dealer from the VDC). Since I’m doing Performance Center delivery I’ll have to wait a little longer for that delivery date. Someone else that was on the same ship as me just got the call today that his car cleared VDC and Performance Center delivery is set for 4/5.

Regardless of where it is being built your order date and production date are two different things. Your dealer has a certain number of production slots, typically by month. When you place an order you are assigned one of those production numbers. In my case I ordered in early September and my dealer had a production slot the first week of October. If I had ordered at the end of September I would have had a November slot. In your case you ordered the end of February and got an early April slot. Your dealer can typically tell you when your production number is scheduled to start but for whatever reason they choose to add some mystery to it. My car was built in Mexico and it has fantastic build quality. You have a greater than 90% chance of being built in Mexico.

Yes I did order it with MPE. It arrived at the dealer last night ahead of schedule.

So my car has been sitting at Concord Autoport since 10th March. Had an ETA to the dealer for the 12th. but of cos the car didn't show up, and now ETA changed to the 15th.
