The VIN was assigned on 3/18. It is a Mexico build.

Interesting. My guess is that you'll see all the next stages rushed through by EOD today since you're already at 2 week mark.

My wife's 430 convertible has been "At the port" for over a week. There's a correlation between the amount of patience and the temperature. As it warms up, patience is lowering.

We asked for PCD, but were told they're only doing that for the SUV's now because of COVID. Would really have liked to have done that.

We live in Texas. Our M340i just moved into "in transit" status today, according to BMW.

Pat, I might would question that as I had no issue getting PCD. I called the BMW Genius line yesterday to see if I could get further details on when my car would board a ship. They confirmed PCD delivery.

Genius line estimate for production being finished: 4/13 (orig. 4/14)

The very rough, back-of-napkin estimate for a delivery date—several caveats, of course—I just heard from the Genius folks is the first week in June. Refreshing the build tracker umpteen times a day has failed to speed this along at all. Obviously I'll need to redouble my efforts.

I imagine part of the hold is the Easter long weekend. Wonder if they also do "runs" of particular paint colors and I'm at a disadvantage choosing one of the more unusual ones? In the US at least, it looks like the only way to get a Glacier Silver 3 series is on a 330e in Sport Line trim.

1) I'm in NJ - does that mean my car (in the paint booth right) will definitely come through the port jersey vpc?
2) Do they only use Wallenius for east coast?

Just curious as that line only seems to have a NYC stop once every two weeks, and it looks like I'd miss the next trip out (leaves Monday). But lots of trips through Baltimore, Charleston, etc.

Your car will come through the Newark VPC. If it is just being painted you will need things to go right to be on a ship two weeks from Monday if that is the next ship from Bremerhaven. Not sure if all ships are Wallenius now. That used to be true. I would be surprised if there was only one ship every two weeks from Bremerhaven to Newark, so maybe other lines get involved.

Just got my VIM today from my dealer, and put it directly into my BMW app of course, so right now there's three of them there, and the upcoming one under a blanket... gives a great feeling...

Try calling BMW Genius line & query for more detail info like your build week, they may have more info such as which plant it'll on etc.

Mine seems gonna be on week 18th.

Does BMW ever send cars to Baltimore ultimately bound for NYC area? Bunch of us have cars waiting in bremerhaven and there's a 3 week gap between wallenius boats heading to NY.

The Baltimore VPC is intended to service BMW dealers in the Midwest, Maryland and maybe Virginia. I think your dealer knows your port of entry? Mercedes uses Baltimore as their primary port so that may explain the number of ships from Bremerhaven to Baltimore. Clearly possible to truck cars from Baltimore to either the Newark VPC or directly to a dealer but logistically they aren't setup to do that. If I lived anywhere other than Minnesota with its 45 days of not winter I would be waiting on a car just like yours.
