No EWG yet but I've been following what you've been doing with the custom map and definitely intrigued. |

Yes. Post your logs in the N54tech website and see what Terry and the others say. And then you can go from there. Lots of helpful people there. I'm sure you'll be able to get better numbers than me. And the EWG connector helps too.

Torque pro reliable to measure 0 to 60MPH?
How reliable is Torque Pro to measure 0 to 60MHP? I have installed RC tuning on Sport mode, running sport+ mode (via Bimmercode) and I've got 4.8s (picture below). It is a little bit cold here (around 24F) but not too slippery.

I don't think it's accurate. But I'm curious what the results with a draggy would be. Is that the Race Chip GTS?

Does torque pro read from a dongle attached to the OBD port? If so, it probably reads the values from the ECU which are inaccurate.

Yes, this is a RC GTS. I'm very surprised with the results as I was getting around 5.2s before. I'm going to experiment with changing the settings to 'RACE' mode on the RC to see if there is an improvement. And it is still snowy here - so I expect to at least get a few ms better. I believe torque pro reads from the tablet sensors (Samsung in this case) - so may not be accurate but cannot be off for more than some ms either - I think.

When I can't find any E85 near me (like say, when I'm far away from home and run out of fuel, which happened once), I run map 3 till I get home and fill E85. With map 3 and 93octane, my car used to do 13.3-13.4s quarter miles and 5.1-5.2s 0-60s.

Right now I took the box off to take the car for diagnostics (because of those codes were still there). BMW scanned and tested the car and said everything is fine, the codes must have been temporary and for some reason carly was still showing them. Very nice service from my dealership, charged me nothing and even cleaned and washed the car for free. |

The snow has melted around here so I did a quick 0-60 run on Nokia 18' 225 winter tyres. Putting the summer wheels on Monday so I wanted to check the difference. (Sadly there's no flat roads where I live long enough for 1/4m)
My car was remapped at a local tuning shop. Didn't have a Dragy before so unfortunately I don't know stock performance. It's a 330i m sport - RWD |

Plus poor performance from the winter tyres and reduced grip wouldn't have helped. I'm looking forward to numbers with summer tyres on and better weather conditions. I also hope you find a road to do 1/4 mile runs. 100-200kmph is the best to know how much power a car actually makes. Probably traction issues. Plus winter tyres. Definitely don't help. My car did much worse when it was stock.

Just took a long trip on the PA turnpike today and I just needed to make an admiration post for this car. My car is completely stock but it still pulls so nicely, even up to 120-130 mph, especially considering that it's a 2.0 turbo 4. I truly feel like a stage 1 flash would make this car a unicorn DD. It's close enough to that already Hope you all are enjoying the car as much as I am!

VipinLJ how accurate has your dragy been when compared to the Speedo. Just purchased one and noticed it was off by quite a bit. Haven't played with it to much but something I noticed when trying it out quickly this morning.
Also, where did you mount yours? Last edited by JTYAMSHAYIN; 03-24-2021 at 03:45 PM.. |

Usually, it's pretty damn spot on (the speedometer reads exactly 2mph higher than what my dragy shows, right down to when the speed changes (i.e, say I use cruise control to cruise at 70mph (as per the speedometer); dragy will show 68mph. If I increase the speed by 1mph, dragy speed also increases exactly by 1mph at the same time the speedo changes (maybe 1s slower at most)). This happens around 95% of the time. But Say a warning message pops up on my live cockpit. It could be something like tyre pressure change, low fuel, low engine oil (I've had those warnings pop up). I notice that the speedo suddenly shows a larger error. When that happens (it has happened many many times, with the most recent happening being today when fuel was low and the warning popped up (yellow triangle sign with less than 30 miles remaining warning)). But this larger error is also spot on (for lack of a better word). When this error is present, for speeds usually above around 40-50mph, the error becomes exactly 5mph (dragy shows 5mph less than speedo reading). Above 100 mph, it increases to 7mph. At lower speeds, it's usually 3mph. This error corrects itself after the warning goes off and the car has been driven for around 50-60 miles. I can also reproduce it (playing with the tyre settings or measuring engine oil levels brings this up too). No one will notice the error unless they're running an app on the side showing GPS speeds. I noticed it first after my tyre swap (they didn't reset the TPMS and I fiddled a lot with tyre settings). I did a dragy run a few days after the swap and realized I couldn't record a 62-124mph run (dragy stopped at 123 when speedo showed 130). If it wasn't for that, I would never have noticed the error. At first, I thought it was the TPMS sensor somehow causing the issue. Then I thought it was my JB4. Later I realised it was the idrive doing it. People thought I was crazy but I recorded videos with cruise control activated and car and dragy readings in the same frame to prove the error existed. I know it's crazy but it's true. At least in my car. Without this freak error, it's spot on. And I mount my dragy right behind the iDrive screen. You can keep it anywhere as long as it can get satellite signals.

Anyone see that the Dinan B58 flash was released today?
https://www.dinancars.com/blog/post/...gine_software/ The B46/48 flash is supposedly towards the end of development and is being road tested in a few weeks at Road Atlanta. If all goes well then i'd imagine it will be released shortly thereafter. |
