BMW Listers Extended Warranty

I am looking to buy a approved used from Listers group.

They are selling a Listers extended warranty, just wanted to know if anyone has experience of this or would it be worth having extended warranty from BMW direct instead after the standard 1 year?

BMW direct. You aren’t tied to a dealer group that way.

As above - BMW warranty is the far better option if available to you.

Anyone could help with a price for extended warranty and what's included? Couldn't find much online

It's car specific, but as a guide I used to pay £330 per year for the fully comprehensive warranty on my F31 330d. That's with a £250 excess, but for me it was piece of mind that big bills (the ZF gearbox amongst other things) were covered.

I've also just taken out the same warranty cover on our Mini (still a BMW obvs) and it was £210.

There are a few options on level of cover and excess. Iirc with zero excess the top level of cover was about £700 on the F31.

Just renewed my BMW Comprehensive Warranty for the second time at 4 years old 20k miles 330i.

Same rates as year 1.

Comprehensive with Roadside was £770 per year.
No Roadside assistance reduces by £130.

I chose Comprehensive with £100 excess per claim and No Roadside as I have RAC cover for all my vehicles. Cost £440 for the year.

I was thinking not to bother with the BMW Warranty as the car still fairly new and shouldn't throw up many issues as I drive it quite sensibly and do low miles. At the beginning of February I got an add coolant message. When I got home I found the coolant dripping all over the drive. Booked into BMW for a new Heat Management Module ( Thermostat). Without the warranty that would have cost the best part of £2k (6.5 hours labour).

Previously the car has had both headlamps (visibility pack) and a rear light cluster replaced under warranty.

You can opt for a lesser BMW Insured Warranty ( named component, Drive Line etc) if you want to save money, but the level of cover is customizable, so for the reason that you can just go to any BMW Main Dealer and they will fix it if it and deal with the admin it is well worth the money in my view.

I took out BMW warranty last September for my 69 reg G21 320d. Comprehensive with £250 excess and including roadside assistance was £422.
Don’t need to have servicing carried out by BMW main dealer as long as garage used is VAT registered.
I was happy with that especially as I’m planning a road trip to France later in year and the fact I get same cover abroad gives me total peace of mind 👍

I had Comprehensive BMW Insured Warranty without recovery for my 2019 G20 320D and it was £600 per year with a £100 excess.

Have a look here, not sure the price will have changed too much.
